Very nice environment, in the middle of the jungle. Rooms are ok, clean! Spa not good at all. Long service!

Mọi thứ đều rất ổn, từ chất lượng phòng ốc, không gian đến nhân viên. Tuy nhiên hồ bơi nước ấm hơn sẽ mang đến trải nghiệm trọn vẹn hơn

Solo traveller here… My stay at the Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat has been truly magical! Set amongst the peaks and lush forest of the national park, it is an absolute oasis of calm. Waking up to the sunrise illuminating the forest and mountains in orange was an absolute joy. The buildings themselves are a mixture of new structures and renovated French ruins, so the whole place feels mystical and steeped in history. My days were spent relaxing by the stunning infinity pool - the perfect instagrammabble spot and going to the fitness centre. Just to add as I couldn’t find any information before I came here - the fitness centre is great. Pairs of dumbbells from 2-20kg, adjustable bench, decline bench for crunches, and a machine with three cables that allows you to do lat pulldowns, low row, bicep curls, tricep push down, leg extensions and curls, shoulder, incline and flat chest press. Got a great workout in everyday and also multiple bikes and treadmills. The whole space was clean and equipment was pretty well treated. I had the Mountain View room and it was well worth the money - high ceilings, spacious, super comfy bed and seperate lounge area with a big smart tv that has Apple, Netflix and YouTube integrated in. Everything was meticulously clean and comfortable and it also had a huge balcony with two loungers to just take in the scenery and relax. Food-wise I only ate at the restaurants. Everything was enjoyable - the western cuisine was surprisingly delicious as well. Recommend the club sandwich, burger and maybe some of the best cooked fries I’ve ever had. Asian food-wise - really enjoyed the pho, nem hanoi spring rolls and the beef with black pepper sauce. The buffet style breakfast was a joy each morning, with a chef serving amazing omelettes and pho. Loads of options to suit any palette and would often mix up a traditional fried English breakfast with dumplings, baos etc. The staff are really special here too - everyone was so polite and lovely and they made my experience wonderful. Especially the restaurant staff who were always so smiley and accommodating. I had a 90 minute massage which was brilliant and much needed - you also get 30 mins use of sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and cold plunge. My masseuse Hoang Laa (I know I’ve got that wrong) was deceptively strong and skilled and my muscles felt a lot better! Lastly I did a forest bathing mini trek. It was myself, a translator / very kind staff member and Miss Moon who ran the session. Essentially we trekked down to a stream, took in nature with a spot of meditation, enjoyed the feeling of water on our feet and shared tea together. For someone who is from a busy city like me, this was the perfect opportunity to switch off your phone and be present and contemplative with the natural landscape. Highly recommend!! I can’t wait to come back and again and could definitely have done with a few more days extra :-)
