“We had one of the best holidays ever in Melia Ko Samui. Of course island is a paradise island but the hotel in overall so amazing and profrsdional that every detail makes you feel you stay in a top class hotel. Super clean beach, hotel and resto areas. Breakfasts, lunchs and dinners very delicious. Yoga every morning, good gym available. Staff super friendly. Rainbow, Van, K, Natty and Runi were so sweet and sincere. They helped us and made this journey amazing. Everyday they welcome you, ask you how you are with a smiling face. We will definitely come back here again and we recommend to everyone.”

“I had the opportunity to organize a large-scale event at the Meliá Koh Samui, and I can confidently say it was one of the most outstanding hospitality experiences I have ever had. The event had to be arranged within just two weeks, which made the entire process particularly challenging. We were looking for a hotel that could deliver true luxury, prestige, and top-tier quality on Koh Samui, while still accommodating the constraints of hosting a large group. We needed a beautiful meeting room, impeccable service, proximity to the beach, and above all, a team that was attentive, flexible, and highly professional. From the very beginning, the experience exceeded all expectations. A special mention goes to Fai, who supported us throughout the pre-booking phase. She went far beyond what we could have hoped for, offering us a very competitive group rate and demonstrating remarkable flexibility with room arrangements, despite the uncertainty we had on our side regarding final attendee numbers. Her understanding of our situation and her willingness to adapt made a critical difference during such a tight planning timeline. Once on-site, although Fai was no longer present, we had the absolute pleasure of working closely with Pop, and this is truly where the experience became exceptional. We were constantly making last-minute requests and changes due to the size and dynamics of our group. Despite this, Pop found a way to accommodate absolutely everything. She helped us integrate new participants smoothly, organized transportation whenever needed, assisted with luggage coordination, supported us at reception, helped us print materials, and even provided excellent restaurant recommendations. No matter the request, she handled it with efficiency, grace, and a genuine smile. What impressed me the most is that at no point did she ever seem overwhelmed or annoyed, despite the intensity and frequency of our demands. Her level of professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to service is something I have very rarely experienced. She truly went above and beyond in every possible way. As for the hotel itself, everything was simply outstanding. The property is stunning, the amenities are luxurious, the spa treatments are excellent, and the food is absolutely incredible. For our event, the catering exceeded all expectations. Every guest was impressed, and the team was able to accommodate all dietary restrictions and allergies seamlessly, which is no small achievement with a large group. Throughout the entire event, our participants kept telling us how incredible the experience was, how much they enjoyed the hotel, the service, and the overall atmosphere. I know for a fact that a large part of this success is thanks to the Meliá Koh Samui and its incredible team. What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. I rarely write reviews, but this experience genuinely deserves recognition. Whether for a personal stay or for organizing a professional event or conference, I cannot recommend Meliá Koh Samui highly enough. The level of service is exceptional and something I have only rarely experienced in my life. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team, and especially to Fai and Pop, who went far beyond excellent and made this experience truly unforgettable.”

“We recently spent a week here during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. We booked a pool access room with the level access - the room was spacious, clean and it was so fun being able to access the pool river through the patio! All the staff were very friendly and professional. Special thanks to Tamarind, Lisa, Kim and Keng - they made breakfast and cocktail hour at The Level so enjoyable each and every time. Also Moss at the omelette station, who makes the most delicious omelettes!”

“Shiran revah ang family ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ חוויה מושלמת שלא נשכח! התארחנו במלון Melia Koh Samui במשך שבוע, ואין מילים לתאר את החוויה המדהימה שקיבלנו. כבר מהרגע הראשון הרגשנו שמדובר במקום מיוחד באמת. הצוות כולו אדיב, מחייך, שירותי ברמה הכי גבוהה שיש, ותמיד עם רצון אמיתי לעזור בכל דבר. החדרים היו נקיים ומסודרים ברמה גבוהה מאוד, האוכל פשוט מושלם, מגוון, טרי וטעים, והמלצרים דואגים כל הזמן שיהיה לך נוח ונעים. הבריכה פשוט גן עדן, צמודה לים נקי, רגוע ויפהפה, ממש תחושה שאתה בתוך חלום. אבל מעל הכול, מה שהפך את החופשה שלנו לבלתי נשכחת זה היחס האישי. אנחנו רוצים להודות במיוחד ל-Siri, ששמעה את הסיפור האישי שלנו ונגעה לנו בלב. היא הצליחה ברגע אחד להעלות לנו חיוך ולהכניס הרבה אופטימיות. אחד הרגעים הכי מרגשים היה כשחזרנו מטיול טרקטורונים עם הילדים – ובכל חדר חיכה לנו מגש פירות טריים חתוכים בצורה מושקעת, יחד עם מגבות מעוצבות בצורת פילים וברכות אישיות מרגשות לנו ולילדים. זה לא מובן מאליו וזה פשוט עשה לנו את היום. זו רמת תשומת לב לפרטים הקטנים שמבדילה בין מלון טוב למלון יוצא דופן. אין ספק שנחזור שוב, וממליצים בחום לכל מי שמחפש חופשה מושלמת בקוסמוי. תודה רבה על חוויה מדהימה”

“Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die moderne und sehr saubere Anlage, das abwechslungsreiche Frühstück (inkl. frisch gepresster Säfte). Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen und nicht weit vom Flughafen entfernt, dennoch bekommt man keinen Fluglärm mit. Es sind sowohl am Pool als auch am Strand ausreichend Liegen vorhanden. Man bekommt täglich frische Pool-/Strandhandtücher und kann auch leckeres Essen an der Beachbar bestellen. Dank des zum Teil flachen Wassers im Pool scheint das Hotel auch für Kinder geeignet zu sein. Unweit des Hotels gibt es einen 7/11 sowie viele kleine Restaurants, die man fußläufig erreichen kann. Außer man möchte es, besteht keine Notwendigkeit die Anlage zu verlassen. Neben der fantastischen Anlage möchten wir den exzellenten Service hervorheben. Die Mitarbeitenden waren jederzeit herzlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen gerne wieder!”

“We arrived at the Melia Koh Samui on the 20 February for a 17 night stay. We had a Level Boat Suite 15, which was a lovely spacious suite with a view over the pool to the beach and sea. We loved having the option of being able to sit on the spacious deck area. The hotel was immaculate and the grounds beautifully maintained. We were on a bed and breakfast board as there are so many fantastic restaurants within a couple of minutes walk along the beach and street. We used our access to the Level club area for our breakfast every morning, where we ate a variety of freshly cooked breakfasts or had the option of an extensive buffet. This area was also nice to visit on our way back to our boat for “afternoon tea” and to go to for a cocktail or glass of wine during “Happy Hour”. We have to give a very special thanks to the following people who work in the Level club area and were so attentive and welcoming: Keng who made us the most delicious mimosas and we wish him a very happy retirement Kim who always greeted us with our chosen glass of wine. We were so sorry that we missed him as we left and did not get to say goodbye, as he was on his break. Lisa, Zena, Pink, Tamarind and Queen who always greeted us with the biggest smiles and were so attentive. These people really made our holiday and became our friends and we would like our thanks to be passed on to them. We spent most of our holiday on the beautiful beach in front of the hotel. Unfortunately we were caught up with the consequences of the troubles in the Middle East and had our flights cancelled. The hotel staff sorted out an extension to our stay with no questions. We were due to leave on 8 March but ended staying until 11 March. This eased our worries as how and when we would be able to get home. If we had to be really picky there are a few things that we suggest: - the sunbeds on the beach are far too close to one another and perhaps having the area in front of Breeza as another sunbed area could help to have more space between beds - We are a couple travelling without children and there were many other couples like us staying as well as families. Whilst we understand and knew at the time of booking that there would be families, it would have been nice for an adults only bar, perhaps in the Level, for Happy Hour. There did seem to be a large unused area in the main building in the evening - could this be utilised for families? - With regards to our boat suite, the decking area was a lovely place to relax, however settee bed had cushions on that became extremely hot in the sunshine and extremely wet when it rained! It may be more practical to have sunbeds and bean bags on the deck as there is a lot of wasted space.”

“We had a wonderful two-week stay and were genuinely impressed throughout. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always eager to help. When we had an issue with our stroller, the reception team resolved it very quickly, which we really appreciated. From reception to housekeeping, everyone was warm, professional, and clearly very well trained. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with lovely greenery everywhere, and everything was kept spotless, from the rooms to the entire property. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and always felt fresh, which we especially appreciated given the high humidity. We were travelling with our young children and my parents, and everyone was very happy with the location. The beach is beautiful, there are plenty of dining options around the hotel, and while the area is not the busiest on the island, it still feels lively and makes for a very enjoyable stay. Places like Fisherman’s Village are also just a short taxi ride away.”

“Das Hotel ist sehr sehr hochwertig, wir hatten eine eigene Lounge im Schiffform, das war schon ein Highlight. Das Areal ist riesig. Frühstück war toll, auch wenn ein bisschen mager. Da das gesamte Hotel an einem Ort frühstückt, wurde es sehr laut, insbesondere weil dort viele Kinder waren. Das war nicht so schön.”

“We stayed at the Melia Koh Samui for a few nights and have mixed feelings on our experience. The grounds are nice, clean and well kept. The hotel is a 10 min drive from the airport (but be aware that Koh Samui cabs are extremely expensive for Thailand). The location was pretty good and there is a 711 convenience store and number of decent restaurants and coffee shops a short walking distance. It’s a quieter area than other parts of the island. We had booked a boat room suite which was extremely disappointing! Nice concept but simply does not work. The website is very unclear during booking as to what you will actually get, how big the rooms are and the actual view. The boat suites are practically next to each other. The view from the (very small) balcony are other boat suites and some trees - ie there is no view. We also had an issue with lots of mosquites getting in even when we kept doors shut. If you open any of your curtains then your neighbours can look directly in. The top floor bedroom was tiny. Smaller even than some cruise ship or city hotel rooms we have been to. The room is not practical at all. One bedside table with literally no space, no sockets for charging, the AC was dripping onto the floor, the TV (on a stand) takes up a large proportion of the limited floor space. The bathroom and your suitcases are downstairs which sounds interesting but is very impractical in reality. The area to store suitcases is small and there is practically no storage. Also the AC in that area blasts onto your head. The stairs are also very steep and quite dangerous in my opinion so going down was a gauntlet especially at night. The suite overall was clean but looked tired aside from the bathroom itself which was modern, big, clean and had decent amenities so no issues there. Upon getting into the room we immediately called reception to see if we can change our room. In all fairness, they were very good and accommodating and due to benefits I have as part of my booking we were offered a suite room upgrade which would be available a couple days later. We were moved to the “level” suite two days later and it was excellent. Night and day vs the boat suite experience we had. The room was fresh, very large and super practical. Balcony was also very big. No issues with the room apart from one night being awoken to all the lights switching on randomly at 4am. The resort itself is long so takes a few minutes to walk from one end (the beach) to the other (entrance, breakfast restaurant and reception) but lovely grounds so its a nice walk. Overall, the staff were okay. Reception staff were pleasant but very hit or miss in their customer service. For example we borrowed a beach bag and we were asked for our room number as we need to hand it back afterwards which was fine. We handed the bag back a day before check out and we were not asked for the room number. We then had to specifically mention our room number and ask them to take note that we have handed it back to avoid getting charged. The next morning during checkout the literal first question was…could we have the beach bag back please?… The rest of staff were nice enough with a special shout out to the bell boys who were super friendly and provided some really helpful info about the island. Breakfast was okay with decent selection but not massive like you may get at other hotels. Quality was good, especially the fruit and pastries. Restaurant area was mayhem at 9-10am due to number of people. Very calm and pleasant when we went at 7am. We ate at the resorts beach restaurant a couple times. Staff were lovely, drinks were excellent(!), views were great but food was a bit hit and miss. Overall, we had a good time at the resort despite some issues, which the hotel did well to resolve, especially the room situation. The hotel was more reasonably priced when compared to other hotels on the island, so we can see the appeal, but in our opinion we would suggest avoiding the boat suite.”

“We stayed here for a week while we were in Koh Samui and we were pretty disappointed. I hate writing reviews, and typically don’t, unless my experience is outstanding or just plain horrible. While this was neither, I want to leave this review because I hope the hotel takes this feedback to heart. CONS: 1. Rooms are okay but beds are very hard. We asked for a mattress topper and received one promptly which is why this review is 3 stars and not less. 2. Staff is not quick with anything. We booked a private daybed with a F&B minimum which was excessive but whatever - we were on vacation. We easily met our minimum but trying to get them to bring us any food and beverages seemed to be like pulling teeth. It made the day far less relaxing than it should have been. The only saving grace was the QR order code which always stopped working at 4pm for no apparent reason at all. 3. The KIDS! Oh my gosh there were so many screaming kids. We were there for a romantic vacation but could not get away from kids at any point. 4. The gym is entirely too small. My husband and I work out a lot and we tried multiple times throughout the day and every time we went, there was zero room. 6am, no room, 8am, 10am, 1pm, 3pm, 8pm, no room to work out. We ended up doing workouts in our suite. 5. Jellyfish are abundant at this beach and will sting you. 6. Midway through our stay they made us come to pay our bill because it was “too high” even though they had our credit card on file. I’m sorry but we travel a lot, and I have NEVER had this happen. Mind you, our bill was something like $600 USD for 5 days and they made us pay and put down another deposit for the remaining two days we were there. Absurd. PROS: while the staff is not fast, the service staff at the restaurant and pool are hilarious and really, really sweet. Honestly it’s the only thing that saved our time here. They were stellar, even if they were very slow. Also, the grounds are beautiful. The grounds crew does an amazing job. Overall, we had an “okay” time. It certainly isn’t the worst hotel you could stay at, but certainly not the best. Would not stay here again to be quite honest.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Koh Samui. This was our first time staying at a Meliá property, and we are extremely impressed. Because of this experience, we will definitely consider Meliá hotels for future trips. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast, which was excellent. The selection was generous, the quality was fantastic, and it was a great way to start each day. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the service from the staff. We would especially like to thank Luca, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. His helpfulness, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made a huge difference. He truly went out of his way to assist us with everything and ensured we had a fantastic experience. We would also like to recognize Ard, Kate, and Isabella at the bar/restaurant. They were always attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. Their service helped make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Because of the outstanding service and overall experience, we will absolutely return to this hotel the next time we visit Koh Samui. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable.”
