“A bit daunting at first as such a large hotel but doesn’t take long to get your bearings. We are now just about to head back for our 4th holiday here in as many years. Love the adult only pool area, beautiful location, rooms and hotel well maintained. Nightly entertainment, not always to our taste but there’s something for everyone. Staff friendly and helpful and buffet restaurant is well stocked and plenty of choice. Only negative is you can book into a different on-site restaurant twice in a one week stay but they don’t make this easy as need to use their app and can only book 24 hours ahead. By the time you do it’s somehow practically fully booked. Oh and their ability to make a decent Pina Colada is hit and miss.
A few shops nearby but otherwise quite remote.”

“We stayed for two weeks on a B&B basis. While the hotel wasn't too bad overall, we wouldn't go back.
If you are thinking of booking B&B like we usually do, think twice—this hotel is much better set up for All-Inclusive guests.
Food & Dining:
The breakfast buffet is brilliant with great variety, but I cannot say the same for the other restaurants. The vegetarian/vegan options are almost non-existent; if you don't eat meat (like my partner), you'll mostly survive on salads & potatoes. None of their à la carte restaurants offer Spanish food!! We tried the Pan-Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean, and Italian spots. The food wasn't bad, but it was nothing special, portions were small, and the value for money was lacking. Furthermore, you have to book days ahead on their app to get a table. Even at 20:30 with numerous empty tables visible, they won't seat you without a reservation (presumably saved for Red Level guests?).
Service & Staff:
The staff are lovely and smiley, but outside of reception, the vast majority struggle with basic English. Before assuming any entitlement, I am not a native English speaker myself and I always try to speak the local language when traveling. While I don't expect all local villagers to speak English, I do expect 5-star hotel staff to communicate reasonably well. Having to rely on Google Translate on my phone for basic requests over two weeks became exhausting.
Hotel Facilities & Rooms:
Housekeeping & Kids' Club: The cleaning ladies are top-notch, sweet, and keep the place spotless.
The kids' club team is also brilliant and deserves full credit.
Pools & Sunbeds: The infinity pool is stunning, but they all look a bit tired and due for a refresh. "Red Level" restricted area remained mostly empty during our stay, while the rest of the family pool was overcrowded. Sunbeds in the main area are completely gone by 8:00–8:30 AM.
Room Leak & Amenities: We woke up one morning to find our hallway floor covered in water from a roof leak. Maintenance fixed it quickly, but existing watermarks showed this wasn't the first time. On the ground floor we stayed, there was nowhere to dry clothes. Without a simple wall rack and with no direct sunlight in the room, our swimwear remained damp for the next day. Minor inconvenience.
Pests: There are quite a few cockroaches outside in the evenings. Luckily none were inside our room, and staff clearly spray overnight, but seeing them right outside your door isn't great.
Location (Alcalá):
You can't really find better dining options nearby either. We wanted to avoid the rowdy, Brit-heavy southern towns, but Alcalá feels dead—more like "Grimsby in the sun." There is a lovely public promenade with great sports facilities and playgrounds linking the hotel to the town in 10-15 minutes, but the town itself isn't picturesque at all. There were no bars to enjoy a quiet glass of wine, and the few local restaurants only operate between 19:00 and 21:30. We were turned away at 21:30 because "it is too late to serve," we ended up getting pizza from a kebab shop...”

“El hotel Gran Melia Palacio de Isora, me parece un hotel sensacional.
Es un hotel que supera todas las expectativas, desde la piscina infinity que es maravillosa, pasando por sus habitaciones, instalaciones, restaurantes y zonas verdes, por donde puedes pasear sin salir del hotel. También, dispone de otras piscinas adicionales donde los placeres sensoriales de relax y silencio son sus rasgos distintivos.
La amabilidad de todo su personal, son otras de sus señas de identidad, desde el personal de recepción (Ronald y Rocío), personal de la piscina (Fernando), restaurantes, buffet y limpieza de las habitaciones, todos ellos siempre te atienden con una amabilidad exquisita y con una sonrisa.
El desayuno y el buffet de 10, donde dispones de una gran variedad de opciones gastronómicas, con una buena materia prima.
Hay gente que se queja del café, sin razón, pues hay maquinas disponibles por todo el buffet, que dispensan un café cremoso y de calidad, con un personal atento y servicial.
Volveremos.”
