Repetiremos :)”

“Positives - Check in was effective and porters good. - The hotel is clean and tidy, maid service is good. - Quiet setting with nice view - The rooms are a nice size - The lower pool bar service was good. The lady there is a superstar. - Pools kept well. - The entertainment was pleasant most days/nights Negatives - The hotel was terraced up a hill, may be too much for older folk. - The food was not upto the promised 5* standard, lacked choice was much the same each day. - The hot food choice was warm on most occasions- the hot lights are not keeping it warm and this could cause stomach upsets. Did not see them check temperatures on the hour as recommended. - Drinks were not forthcoming like other hotels, we were offered one on being seated but none offered thereafter unless you asked. Many hotels we have been to have a self service. - Drinks at the terrace bar were also hard to get- we sat for 15 minutes once to see how long it took to be offered one. I had to go to the bar myself to get served most nights. There was no shortage of staff hanging around, but doing little.”

“Overall the hotel is pleasant and somewhat modern in areas. There is no fight for sun loungers each morning which is a relief. Although slightly maize like you can get your bearings in a few days. Upon chatting to another couple in the lift they said the same. I have stayed in plenty of melia hotels and this one is most basic I would say. The rooms are pleasant yet it felt very noisy when your room is on floor 4 and the restaurant is above you. Moving chairs around late at night etc. There is only one basic bathroom round the toilet, toilet cistern is cracked. Not 5* standard. We went for lunch in the buffet restaurant, where we were refused entry due to wearing a bikini under a kaftan. Which I completely understand , yet when we went for lunch in the Pico Negro restaurant (which is far more upmarket) this was not a problem. When I went to reception and asked for a manager they sent the same person that sent me away which she explained she was new and it was a mistake. As I was appropriately covered up. I explained this isn’t clear and isn’t stated on the website of any dress code. She invited me back, which I declined as time had passed and it felt the idea of a nice lunch was now tainted. The main pool area felt tired and could have been cleaner within the pool - when passing the “level” area pool there seemed to be a stark contrast in upkeep between the two pools. Merci !”
