A Mediterranean breeze

The old part of the city has many buildings that the local emigrants built on their return after making their fortune in the Americas. The Plaza del Ayuntamiento is home to the Gothic-style Town Hall and the Bacardi Museum. Sitges keeps all its charm alive by perfectly preserving its historic centre, the place where its famous Carnival is held every year. The beaches to visit include Balmins, La Ribera or Aiguadolç. The city is one of the most popular destinations for gay travellers in Europe and hosts the annual Sitges Gay Pride events.
