The official currency is the Dominican peso. In larger cities, it is easy to exchange foreign currency at banks and exchange offices.
The official and most widely spoken language is Spanish. The vocabulary also includes a lot of African and American English influences.

The climate is warm and tropical. The temperature varies throughout the year between 25⁰C and 35⁰C.
