“We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. The hotel despite its return is quite nice. There is a pool for adults and children. There is a jacuzzi. The staff is friendly. And most importantly a good coast, no storms and clear water. There is also a ferry to Isla Mujeres. Also worth a visit. And every evening there are "ancient pirate ships and fireworks". This place has nothing but warm impressions.”

“Llegamos para festejar el cumple #5 de nuestro pequeño hijo y Navidad 🎄 para nuestra suerte el día que llegamos abrió el parque acuático y la pasamos increíble 🙌🏻 Los chicos del personal son únicos y súper amables, especial agradecimientos para Suuu del kidsclub súper linda, paciente y amable con mis hijos 💕 Fernando y Crisanto del bar se hicieron los mejores amigos de mi hijo pequeño, muy buena onda (Fernando le permitió ayudarlo a elaborar la bebida de mi esposo fue muy divertido) Nirvana y Santos del Merkado lunch atentos, serviciales y muy agradables 🫶🏼 Brian del restaurante casa nostra experiencia única e inigualable comidas y bebidas deliciosas. Debo mencionar que al momento de leer los últimos comentarios del hotel tuvimos algo de miedo puesto que no tenían nada positivo, sin embargo, cada familia vive una experiencia única y la de nosotros fue EXCEPCIONAL !!! Cabe mencionar que el hotel esta abriendo sus puertas, ya que se acaban de renovarlo y aún faltan pequeños detalles por mejorar. Por su puesto que regresaremos Gracias TOTALES Felices fiestas 🎉”

“Fuimos a pasar navidad 4D/3N… Instalaciones renovadas, buenas camas y limpias. Estamos agradecidas por el servicio con Eric quien nos atendio en los restaurantes, con Moises quien siempre estuvo atento de nosotras. Con Alejandro y Lluvia en counter, con Crithopher y Antonio quienes nos animaron toda la estancia en las actividades que disfrutamos… nos gusto tambien las bebidas en el bar de playa. La Playa esta bonita (pero es temporada de sargazo) la piscina esta fría, sería ideal que tenga calentador… Como todo hotel recien renovadoy recien apertura con varias fallas doy los siguientes observaciones: - los restaurantes abiertos con poco capacidad y poca variedad, sugiero rotular los alimentos del buffet para personas con alergias alimentarias. Regular las temperaturas de las bandejas calientes, algunas no estaban a calientes, ni tibias… agradeceria ofrecer mas opciones vegetarianas. - Las habitaciones estan bonitas, pero faltan detalles como el protector debajo de la puerta y se escucha todo lo que pasaba… el lavadero del mini bar de mi habitacion 1702B esta oxidado. - las puertas de los serviciones higienicos de las areas comunes (lobby y el bar de playa) son muy pesadas, uno no puede abrirla/cerrarla. En el Baño del lobby, tuve un incidente con una señora que el golpie la cabeza porque uno no puede saber si el baño esta ocupado, ella adentro no pudo cerrarlo y yo lo abri intentando ver si estaba libre… - En las habitaciones nos toco reclamar el refill del agua porque el servicio se olvido reponer y nos dijeron que hasta el día siguiente debiamos esperar. En los restaurantes dan agua filtrada (lo cual lo sentí muy salada y me daba más sed) sugiero mejorar ese tema… En resumen, en medio de todo lo comentado… lo pase muy bien, me sentí segura es un hotel agradable y contaba con un ambiente familiar que hizo nuestra estadía genial espero regresar pronto!”

“This is an amazing resort in one of the best locations of the Cancun Hotel Zone with a beautiful large beach front. The water is calm and shallow, ideal for families with children. All the staff are super friendly. Jesus at the concierge front desk has been very helpful in all aspects for our group of 10 this year - thank you. Casa Maya has been very tastefully renovated in 2024 and the new pool and the new water park are amazing. The rooms are very spacious and the balconies have a view of the ocean. During christmas we enjoyed a couple of shows, one indigenous and one with a christmas theme, both were of very high caliber. The new Italian restaurant Casa Nostra is also very good, we highly recommend the Spaghetti Carbonara. We do miss the gym and hot tubs which were eliminated as part of the renovations and hope that they will be reintroduced in the future. The resort offers a number of fun activities every day and I highly recommend Casa Maya, especially to families with children. We have been coming here for more than 20 years and have always enjoyed our stay. Thank you Casa Maya.”

“Here is my fair and honest review. We booked this trip during their Black Friday sale when the resort was still being remodeled. At the time, there were no reviews, and we decided to take a chance. After booking, we started checking reviews as they opened and became a bit concerned. However, we chose to give it a chance while keeping our expectations low. Today is January 2nd, and we arrived on New Year’s Day. If you’re like me and constantly checking reviews to gauge what the place is like, I hope this helps you. I read many of the negative reviews, which initially made me nervous. Since the resort has only been open for two weeks, I feel like they’re still improving, and there’s definitely potential. The Bad When we arrived on New Year’s Day, the first issue we encountered was that the hot water in our room didn’t work. Additionally, the outdated crib that was mentioned in other reviews was also in our room. While it wasn’t quite as bad as some reviews suggested, it was unsafe for our active 20-month-old toddler. She woke up, started shaking the crib, and nearly fell. We ended up not sleeping much the first night because we realized it wasn’t safe to leave her in it. The room itself doesn’t have every piece of furniture yet, but it’s still really nice. Everything is brand new, and the overall design is great. We’re staying on the “Level” (an upgraded section of the resort), and the view is absolutely amazing. That said, we wish they had childcare or activities for toddlers. We met other parents with kids aged 3–4+, and they absolutely loved all the activities available for older children. The Good We were upset and initially wanted to leave the resort. However, we decided to talk to the manager. Carlos was amazing—he went above and beyond to address and fix all our issues. Within two hours, they had replaced the outdated crib in our room with a new one, and the hot water was fixed quickly. With the grand opening, some items weren’t readily available, but the staff worked hard to resolve everything. The water park and outdoor activities are awesome and definitely worth it. The water park is fully open and a major highlight of the trip. The buffet food is okay, but it seems to have improved since the first day. On the other hand, the Italian restaurant is absolutely amazing! Staff Shoutouts • Jarrett (Doorman): Extremely nice and willing to go out of his way to help. • Carlos (Manager): Excellent service, quick to address and solve issues. • Ronaldo (Server at Italian Restaurant): Outstanding service and very attentive. Overall, while there were some bumps during our stay, the staff’s efforts to improve and the great amenities make us feel like this resort has a lot of potential as it continues to develop.”

“The staff at Melia Casa Maya are incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. In particular, I would like to thank Claudia from the Concierge front desk who has gone above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. I am 89 years old and was part of a larger family group who spent two memorable weeks here during Christmas and New Year. I slipped and injured my hip (no fault of the hotel) and required an xray and medical attention. The staff at Casa Maya were so helpful, caring and concerned and coordinated the ambulance immediately. Thankfully, the xray revealed that it was only an extremely painful strain and I am now able to walk again. Claudia also ensured that I had a wheelchair and sourced a shower chair that I needed for a couple of days. She even gave us a complimentary premium bottle of wine at the end of our stay. We are so grateful for the care and attention we have received from you during the two weeks and in particular from Claudia when I injured myself. Thank you.”

“Muy recomendable! La atención es excelente, las instalaciones buenisimas, está todo a estrenar xq inauguraron hace poco. Ideal con niños, el parque acuático está muy bien con toboganes y espacios para los más chiquitos, tiene piscinas, y la playa está buena ( en enero sin algas, buena cantidad de playa y ok las reposeras y sombrillas) La comida es buena, hay 4 opciones: bar grill, bar de playa con mariscos, internacional e italiano. La vista de la habitación al mar es increíble. Victor es nuestro conserje, muy amable su atención. Lo único que les recomiendo es que consulten las medidas de las camas antes si son muy altos ;) Volvería!”

“Very honest review here. We were a family of 5 from Canada here for 12 days dec27 2024. We were VERY anxious from reading the comments before coming, asking ourselves if we should cancel our trip, but luckily, we didn’t ! We had a very pleasant trip and I would recommend this place, having the good expectations. 1. The hotel Check in was fast, after a loooong day it was pretty easy at 10h30 pm . Hotel is VERY clean. The rooms are very large. We were first placed in a room where there was supposed to be 2 beds + sofa bed but was missing sofa bed. We changed room the morning after. We had to insist because the first answer was that the beds in the room were not garanteed. But as soon as I spoke to the manager (Carlos), he gave the ok and he and Alejandro took care of it and we were switched to a very beautiful room with sofa bed, closed bed room. 2. The food Good food, but a bit more variety from day to day would be better. Not too much crappy food so at least the food that’s there is good. Lots of fruits and vegetables. A la carte restaurant we’re never a trouble to reserve for dinner. The cape nao breakfast buffet is the best. All the food places were very well maintained and clean. My only concern is that for hamburgers we had to check and ask to recook the meat because we didn’t want any pink. Maybe it’s usual in Mexico to cook it this way but for me, hamburger meat must be very well done. But they always recooked it without problem. The service people were amazing. Jose Luis, Marcelino, Cindy, were our go-to but sincerely every one was so nice and spoke good English also. Also the drinks are very good. Thumbs up to Adiel at the beach bar! 3. Entertainment I was amazed by the entertainment. They work non stop , always smiling, super inclusive with everybody, seriously I give them 120%! From yoga/stretching/aquagym /waterpolo, to pool balloon party , silent disco, danse lessons, sand castle , kids waterpolo and more more more.. I don’t remember the name of everyone of them but Amanda, Suriel, Christopher and really the whole team was wonderful! Also the New Year’s Eve celebration was amazing. We travelled often at New Year’s Eve and it’s one of the best celebration I have seen ! Maya dancers, beach party with live bands , lighting floor, dansers, fireworks… I did not expect that from a small hotel !! And the day after erverything was cleaned , when we woke up! 4. Beach/pool/waterpark The beach is large, always soccer, volleyball going on. Beach bar is very accessible and there’s service on the beach also. The sand is fine and soft like flour. The water is clear. Very shallow so very safe for kids. Popular beach with local families who install their chairs and umbrellas , but the meddling is rather pleasant! Pool is very clean, the water is fresh. (But as Canadians, it didn’t bother us!) it’s a nice long pool, so you can swim laps . There’s a nice shallow area for the kids Waterpark is super fun ! It’s reserved for the hotel clients so not too busy ! Very well guarded with 3-4 lifeguards at all moments. We enjoyed our vacation. It’s a very good place also to go with a person who can’t walk too much because erverything is close by. I think when they opened the first week It was not ready and that’s why the comments were bad. I hope my review helps you because when we saw all the bad comments we almost cancelled our stay and we would have missed out on a really good vacation !”

“Estuvimos 3 días y la verdad que no nos podemos quejar de nada. La comida muy rica, las instalaciones nuevas y lindas. La vista del balcón es hermosa, todos los empleados atentos y consultándonos si necesitábamos algo. Los animadores todos unos cracks, tanto los de adultos como los de los niños… mi hijo la pasó excelente con todas las actividades (incluyendo el parque acuático). Volveremos sin dudas..”
