“We highly enjoyed our trip to Iguazú and were glad we stayed here for our visit. For one, the view from our room is probably one of my top room views. Seeing the magnificent waterfalls on our first morning was breathtaking. Also the fact that we could walk into the park right from the hotel grounds was so convenient. I did knock off 2 stars for service because there were a few things that we struggled with. I had done the half board (which I would not recommended btw) and we got very little information as far as what it included at the dinner restaurant. I also thought it was weird that dinner reservations were required. We arrived on the first night around 7 and they didn’t have any reservations until 9:30. Luckily they were able to squeeze us in but since we booked red level I would have expected more initiative to confirm our first night dinner plans. They also were surprised that we did not arrive earlier but they had arranged our arrival transport and knew we were visiting the Brazilian side first. At checkout our dining charges did not reflect our half board plan so that had to be corrected. And the reason I would not recommend the half board is because it’s a lot more food than we really needed. The restaurant included 1 starter, 1 entree and 1 dessert but the starters are basically entree sized. There was no way we could eat all of that so it just felt wasteful, I would rather just order what I wanted than trying to conform to the half board offering. The service at the restaurant was also very slow and it took forever to receive our entrees because they gave them to the table next to us by mistake. I heard them drop our exact meals off and the guest at that table didn’t immediately correct them so then when they finally did correct them, obviously those dishes couldn’t be taken back so then they brought them their correct items and we were still waiting. We at at the bar the next night to avoid the restaurant delays again.”

“Remote national park hotel with a view of Iguazu Falls. Spent two nights. The rooms were disappointing. Not bad or dirty, but nothing special. Nice pool overlooking the falls. Service was good. We ate supper at the patio grill restaurant the first night and the steak was excellent. Dined indoors the second night due to rain, I had a local fish and it was tasty. Easy walking trails out to the falls, which were a magnificent sight. Beware of the local monkeys trying to get into your room. They are fun to watch.”

“What a stunning hotel! Our stay was an amazing experience that I can highly recommend. It is arguably the best location within the national park; you can see the falls from your room or enjoy the view with a drink by the pool. Plus, it's just a short walk to the trails for an even closer look. The only area for improvement is the restaurant, as some dishes lacked balance. However, the menu is extensive, and we found plenty of other delicious options. We opted for 'Level' access, which is a must if you enjoy snacks and drinks throughout the day. The service was top-notch—special thanks to Alexis, Esteban, and Augustina for taking such great care of us!”

“We unfortunately, only stayed at Gran Melia Iguazu for two nights. I truly wish it had been longer. The location is fabulous, right inside Iguazu Falls National Park. The area is beautifully landscaped and includes views of the falls in many of the rooms. We saw numerous birds from our balcony as well as around the grounds, including Toucans. There are also monkeys to entertain you although you need to be careful not to leave your balcony door open as they will definitely come into your room to steal food. After spending the day walking through the park the large infinitely pool is a welcome way to cool off and relax. I definitely recommend the hotel to anyone planning to visit the falls.”

“Service is excellent, staff are helpful and genuinely want to make your stay as great as possible. They took VERY good care of us. The view and grounds are spectacular. The infinity pool is amazing. For these reasons I'm so glad we stayed here for a couple of days to enjoy the falls. The breakfast is lovely and if the breakfast buffet doesn't suit you, they offer more items for additional charge of course. Since I like Indian and savory food I didn't enjoy the food much here and found it to be lacking in flavor and quality. The $31 Cesar salad was definitely not worth it. Perhaps the grilled meats are better. The room was ok, the bed was very firm and the sheets were so new and high quality that they seemed kind of hard and made a lot of noise when we moved. The pillows were also too firm for us. I let the front desk know and they had housekeeping switch the sheets and pillows which made our sleep the second night much better. There's a fire alarm next to the bed that flashes a light every 30 seconds which was annoying so we covered it with a hat. We were very grateful for the staff at the pool that stopped the rude people playing their own music very loudly. Overall for the price I would have expected the room to be more comfortable, so I'm glad we only stayed 2 nights. The next hotel we stayed at was 5x less expensive and significantly more comfortable and larger.”

“The Gran Meliá Iguazú Hotel is a truly beautiful and exceptionally located hotel right in the heart of Iguazú National Park. Although the exclusivity of the hotel is reflected in the price of the accommodation, it is definitely worth paying extra here. The level of service is outstanding and the location of the hotel is simply irreplaceable. The hotel’s main advantage is its location. It is situated directly inside the national park. This means you don’t have to wait for the official opening hours to explore the Iguazú Falls. We set out before 8 a.m. and walked for about 30 minutes along the path next to the railway track all the way to Devil’s Throat. We were completely alone there! Nothing can beat this experience. Other tourists started arriving about half an hour later because they had to wait for the park to open and then for the first train that takes visitors to Devil’s Throat. The hotel’s location also allows you to enter the park anytime during your stay, for example in the afternoon when there are generally fewer people. I recommend the Lower Circuit, where you can see almost all of the waterfalls. The hotel itself also offers beautiful views directly toward the section of the falls with Devil’s Throat. The best view is from the rooftop bar. You can also observe a variety of animals. If you look closely at the surrounding trees, you will spot many birds, including the toco toucan. In the afternoon, monkeys—specifically capuchins—often move around the hotel grounds. Sometimes you can watch them picking fruit from the trees and moving around together as a group. However, they also visit hotel balconies and occasionally throw guests’ belongings off them. So it’s important to be careful, not to leave anything on the balcony, and above all to keep the balcony doors closed! The hotel restaurants are excellent. Merkado Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor section focuses mainly on steaks and also prepares the Argentine specialty asado. When booking dinner, specifically ask for the outdoor seating if you enjoy meat dishes. You won’t find this section listed separately in the restaurant options. Breakfast offers a wide selection, and the staff will also prepare omelets and other dishes on request. Swimmers will certainly appreciate the fantastic 50-meter pool, which is rarely crowded. Usually there are only a few swimmers, so you can enjoy both the swimming and the magnificent views of Iguazú Falls directly from the pool. The poolside service is excellent—hotel staff happily prepare sun loungers, umbrellas, replace towels, and keep the area clean. The pool bar also offers excellent drinks and food (including burgers or delicious pizza). The hotel also includes a spa and a very well-equipped fitness center. Most of the time I had the gym entirely to myself—other guests were probably already exhausted after visiting the waterfalls. Towels, water, and apples are available in the fitness center. And even from the gym there is an amazing view of Iguazú Falls. The hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful. Throughout the entire stay I did not meet anyone who seemed to be in a bad mood. Housekeeping even cleaned the room twice a day, replenishing water and chocolates. It is also worth mentioning the proximity of IGR Airport, which is about a 20-minute drive away. Getting to IGU Airport on the Brazilian side took us about 50 minutes. I recommend arranging transfers directly through the hotel. They were reasonably priced, reliable, and—most importantly—they save a lot of time when crossing the border into Brazil, because authorized drivers can pass through the border faster.”

“A fantastic location to enjoy Iguazú. It is a serene and comfortable place to relax in the middle of a jungle! The monkeys visit your balcony in search of food, the toucans appear in the morning and the pool invites you to cool off. We had a beautiful room with falls views (the red level) and it was worth every penny. After all, you’re probably not coming back, so just do it! You also get access to the red level lounge where you can sit and have a quiet drink or a bite away from everyone else! What’s not to love. Special thanks go to Esteban who looked after us royally. He and his colleagues are incredibly professional and kind. With the superb views, incredible levels of service and location at one of the world’s great wonders I’m not sure anything could be better. Just make sure you don’t have a “jungle view” or you risk seeing the car park. Splash out- you won’t regret it!”
