In a poem by the Finnish writer Zacharias Topelius, titled "The Milky Way", the story of the beautiful Salami and the brave Zulamith is told, souls in love who were separated and turned into two distant stars. Unable to bear the separation any longer, they decided to build a luminous bridge that would allow them to reunite, and so, over more than a thousand years, they created the Milky Way. Legend has it that, when at last the two stars reunited in the sky, they merged into a kiss and a single star was born, which is none other than the brightest one, Sirius, in the Canis Major Constellation, the fourth brightest object, after the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter.
