“The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel is an absolute gem. Set on the beautiful, tranquil grounds of a former prince’s estate (Xiengkeo Palace), the property is stunning, but it is the remarkable, thoughtful hospitality that truly sets it apart. We had a very limited window—only about 24 hours in town—and the entire staff ensured every single moment counted. Arranging airport pickup by emailing the hotel in advance was smooth, prompt, and very reasonably priced. We arrived around 7:00 PM, and the staff immediately offered to drive us down to the vibrant night market so we wouldn’t miss experiencing it. Even better, they offered to pick us back up well after their standard shuttle hours so we could enjoy our evening without feeling rushed. Breakfast the next morning on the historic estate grounds was fantastic. Rather than a standard buffet, you order directly from a full, made-to-order menu and can have as much as you like. Everything was delicious, from the freshly made omelettes and savory chicken fried rice to the Spanish-style French toast, avocado toast, and wonderful teas and coffees. Because our departure time was approaching, we asked if it was possible to arrange a short tour of the area before leaving. The hotel went above and beyond for a very modest fee. We began with a private, comprehensive tour of the palace itself and its historic rooms, which was fascinating and spectacular. Following checkout, they arranged for us to visit several key sites in town, including the King’s Palace Museum and local temples, before dropping us off directly at the airport. A special recognition must go to our driver, Sander, whose attentive hospitality made our tour completely seamless. At every stop, he parked the van, personally walked us right up to the entrance, clearly designated our meeting point, and gave us his WhatsApp number so we could stay in touch effortlessly. Best of all, he was always waiting at the pickup spot ahead of time to ensure we never had to wait even a single minute. Every single team member we encountered carried that same gracious, accommodating warmth. If your travels ever bring you to Luang Prabang, do not hesitate to book here—they truly go above and beyond from start to finish!”
