“Across our trip to Africa last month, my partner and I stayed at three Melia properties: Melia Zanzibar, Melia Serengeti and Melia Ngorongoro. While all were wonderful, Melia Serengeti was without a doubt our favourite. It was unforgettable, breathtakingly luxurious, and exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the most incredible views across the Serengeti. It was absolutely jaw-dropping. I couldn't stop saying "wow". It feels surreal to find yourself in such a luxurious lodge right in the middle of one of the world's most spectacular wildlife ecosystems. The entire property was immaculate, beautifully maintained, and every detail felt carefully considered. What really made Melia Serengeti stand out for us was that the service matched the view. In our opinion, there is no point having one without the other, and they delivered both perfectly. As Melia members, we were made to feel so valued and special throughout our stay. It was the small things that made all the difference. The highlight of our entire trip was the bush dinner my partner surprised me with one evening. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care had gone into making it special. John (the manager at Melia Serengeti), greeted us personally on arrival and was such a genuinely lovely host. He introduced us to the staff who would be looking after us, made sure we were completely happy, and really set the tone for the evening. It was those thoughtful touches that made such a difference. After that, we were left in the very capable hands of Joseph, our bush dinner host, who was fantastic throughout the evening. We chatted away with him all night and thoroughly enjoyed his company. Combined with the incredible setting, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere, it became one of those memories we will never forget. We felt like royalty and certainly ate like it too. We loved trying the Swahili dishes on our trip, and there was always a fantastic selection of wines and spirits to enjoy. The staff were exceptional from start to finish, always eager to help and making everything feel effortless. It was such a luxury not having to plan a thing because they had every detail under control. A very special mention has to go to our Safari guide, Herbert, who was simply the BEST. He was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and went above and beyond to make sure we were always comfortable, happy, and well looked after. We genuinely felt cared for throughout our entire stay and a massive part of that was down to Herbert - a true credit to the Melia Collection. “Creo que es muy difícil que exista una cadena hotelera en el mundo con dos hoteles que puedas visitar en un mismo viaje que sean tan impresionantes y de tan alto nivel como el Meliá Serengeti y el Meliá Ngorongoro. Teniendo la fortuna de haber podido conocer hoteles muy impresionantes del mundo, no exagero si digo que estos dos son de los mejores hoteles que he conocido. Pasar unos días en el Meliá Serengeti fue una de las mejores decisiones de nuestro viaje por Tanzania. El hotel combina el gran lujo con la naturaleza salvaje de manera impecable. Las vistas desde la terraza de las habitaciones y la piscina Infiniti a la sabana, son espectaculares. Las habitaciones son amplias, muy cómodas y decoradas con un gusto exquisito, manteniendo ese toque africano auténtico. El personal fue extraordinariamente amable; siempre atentos, sonrientes y dispuestos a hacer que cada detalle fuera perfecto, y es que lo que diferencia los buenos hoteles de los que son excelentes, es que trabajan para que cada detalle, por muy pequeño que sea, esté perfectamente calculado, sorprenda al cliente y se sienta cómodo durante toda su estancia. Culpables de tan maravillosa experiencia están tanto Jon, como Martin, quienes nos dieron un trato excepcional durante toda la estancia, así como el resto de personal del hotel incluidos los Masái. La comida, tanto el desayuno como la cena, superó nuestras expectativas. Y no quiero dejar de recomendar la oportunidad de hacer la experiencia del walking safari que ofrece el hotel. Poder andar con un Masái y un Ranger y encontrarte con una manada de búfalos a menos de 30 metros, es algo que nunca olvidaremos.”

“Das Hotel ist wirklich gut. Der Standort ist auch eigentlich schön aber: der Grund warum man dort hingeht ist eine Safari in der Serengeti zu machen. Dafür muss man aber leider hin und zurück über haarsträubende Pisten fahren. Wir waren in der Regenzeit dort, da sind Jeeps komplett abgesoffen. Die Lösung wäre am Hotel einen Airstrip zu bauen, eine kleine Graspiste würde reichen. Das würde den Trip nach Seronera in der Central Serengeti auf 10 Minuten verkürzen. Von dort kann man mit dem Jeeps alles problemlos erreichen.”

“Nous avons passé deux nuits au Meliá en pension complète, avec deux demi-journées de safari (game drive). Tout a commencé par un accueil personnalisé à la Seronera Airstrip vers 11h, avec un apéritif de qualité. Nous avons ensuite enchaîné avec un premier game drive, une pause déjeuner, puis direction l’hôtel. L’établissement est perché en hauteur, avec une piscine à débordement offrant une vue magnifique sur les plaines. En basse saison, l’hôtel n’était rempli qu’à 30 %, ce qui renforce vraiment le sentiment d’intimité. Les chambres sont spacieuses, joliment décorées et pleines de petites attentions. Côté restauration, rien à redire : tout était très bon. Un grand merci à Martin et à ses équipes pour la qualité de l’accueil. À noter toutefois : il faut prévoir en supplément environ 160 $ par personne et par jour de taxes gouvernementales, non incluses dans le prix initial.”

“Just like Melia Ngorongoro, I can only recommend Melia Serengeti with all my heart. Everything was perfect — truly incredible from beginning to end. The lodge is nestled in the very heart of the Serengeti, and the setting is simply breathtaking. It is an immense privilege to have breakfast while watching elephants wander just a few dozen meters away from you. Moments like these feel almost unreal — the kind of beauty that silences you, humbles you, and stays with you forever. A very special thank you to Alex, also known as the best guide and the best driver in the entire universe, for following us all the way there so that we could continue sharing more beautiful days together. We laughed so much, saw thousands of animals — each one more magnificent than the last — and created memories that will remain engraved in my heart forever. “If you are visiting the Serengeti, staying at the Meliá Serengeti Lodge is an experience I would recommend without hesitation. Our stay here was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Tanzania. The lodge itself is beautiful. Our room was spotless and had an incredible view of the Serengeti that we never got tired of waking up to. The food was excellent throughout our stay, and the staff were very accommodating with our dietary preferences. Every meal and interaction felt thoughtful and welcoming. A few team members made the experience especially memorable. Mosses, the Guest Experience Supervisor, clearly takes great pride in creating an outstanding safari experience. Our guide and driver Izack was phenomenal. His knowledge of the Serengeti was impressive, and he made it a point to help us find the specific animals we hoped to see. Each game drive with him was an unforgettable experience. The food and beverage team were also wonderful, and Steven the mixologist made some excellent cocktails that we looked forward to each evening. This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip for my wife and me, and the team at Meliá Serengeti Lodge made it even more special than we imagined. We left with incredible memories and would gladly stay here again. “Stayed here for 2 nights and had the most magical time ever. i have severe food allergies to Dairy,Nuts,Wheat, Fish and Shellfish so I was very nervous to travel to a more remote destination and had a lot of anxiety around the food aspect. Sure enough I was greeted by Chef Marcos the head chef! He came out to speak to me and was such a great communicator. Made me feel very safe and reassured me he would cook a safe and delicious meals. Easy to say that he did, the food was absolutely incredible. Not too mention he was very personable and shared some crazy stories with us! I get the honor to say I made a great friend from this experience and likewise Amos another member of the staff was very friendly and genuinely hilarious. We were only there for a 2 night stay but for those 2 nights we had such a personal experience and everyone was no kind and nice stuff, left my family and I with some great memories to share and bring back home. If you are looking for THE place to stay at Ngorongoro Crater this is IT!!!”

I thoroughly enjoyed trying to spot animals in the vast field with my binoculars☺️ The service is extremely attentive and helpful. Dinner was good but the breakfast was truly incredible. I would also definitely recommend getting a massage at their spa - after a long day of safari it is all you need to relax! Overall a once in a lifetime experience staying there!”
