“Arrived in Luang prabang after a long journey, we were delighted to be delivered to the doors of this lovely colonial styled hotel. We had a cocktail sitting looking over the banks of the river and felt utterly at peace and happy. The staff are charming and easy to smile. The room was spotless and had a view of the lawns that were manicured by gentle water buffalo. A swimming pool makes this a nice retreat for a couple of days, and despite grander days, the hotel does a great job to retain it's slightly elite feel and cleanliness. They provide an hourly shuttle bus to the centre of town very close to the night market, and I believe you can also be collected and returned to the hotel. It was great to spend a couple of nights at this lovely hotel, and then a couple of nights in the centre. Who doesn't love Luang Prabang..”

“We had an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC stay at The Grand Luang Prabang. Truly one of the most impressive hotel experiences we’ve had anywhere. Let’s start with the FOOD, because this is important. Hotel food is usually very average—sometimes worse—but this was OUTSTANDING. And here’s why: they GROW THEIR OWN VEGETABLES right on the property and along the banks of the Mekong River. Fresh, thoughtful, beautifully prepared. You can taste the difference immediately. No shortcuts. Very rare. The STAFF were exceptional. Thoughtful, caring, and genuinely kind. The attention to detail was INCREDIBLE—the kind of service that makes you feel truly looked after, not just checked in and checked out. The setting is SPECTACULAR. Peaceful, quiet, and directly on the banks of the Mekong River. Calm, beautiful, and deeply relaxing—exactly what you want in Luang Prabang. One of the highlights—and this was very special—were the three water buffalo that maintain the grass around the hotel. Friendly, calm, and honestly adorable. A unique and memorable touch you don’t see anywhere else. This was a MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE for my wife and me—one we will not forget. An exceptional hotel, run the right way, in a truly beautiful location. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”

“Good rooms, beautiful place. The breakfast buffet and dinner were great. About 15 min from town by Tuk Tuk. No bidet in the bathroom. Definitely a nice place to stay, though it does feel a little dated. Good place if you want a slow, quiet hotel. Also a decent gym”

Anche se può sembrare un po’ distante dal centro, in realtà bastano solo 15 minuti di van (gratuito) per arrivarci. E se rientri tardi, con pochi euro puoi tornare comodamente in tuk-tuk. Vale davvero la pena provarlo: ti fa sentire subito a tuo agio.”

“Tranquil private sanctuary I had a most wonderful 3-night stay at The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel! 😍 Set on a big plot of land, this hotel offers a true sense of space and a private sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle. Located a bit away from the city centre, it's perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility. The hotel's restaurant overlooking the Mekong River is a highlight, with stunning views of the far horizon and the mighty river. The staff are super friendly and helpful, always ready to give recommendations for restaurants to dine in the city. My room was very clean and spacious, with everything I needed. However, breakfast could be improved for Western travellers - the buffet mainly featured Chinese or cooked dishes (veggies, rice, noodles), an egg station, and noodle soup. Cereals, bread, and cake were available, but it was a bit limited for non-Asian tastes. Overall, I'd highly recommend The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views, and excellent service. A great choice for a relaxing stay in Luang Prabang!”

“Très bel établissement situé au bord du majestueux Mekong. Bonne cuisine mais trop chère pour le Laos. Chambres superbes mais très mal insonorisées, les clients qui ferment leurs portes réveillent tout l'hôtel. The food is good, but overpriced for Laos. The rooms are superb, but very poorly soundproofed; guests closing their doors wake up the entire hotel. “The Grand Luang Prabang was one of the best hotels my husband and I have ever stayed in. The location was beautiful right on the Mekong River. The view from our room was beautiful and we certainly enjoyed it. The grounds were immaculate and very well taken care of. The service was amazing. Diana was so sweet and helpful. She took the time to talk to us and made us feel very welcome. The front desk staff were all very attentive and helpful. In fact all the staff were great. The housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping the rooms immaculately clean. Amenities were really good too. All in all a great experience. Would definitely return to this hotel when we’re in Luang Prabang again.”

“We have had such a wonderful stay at The Grand. The staff have all been so kind, helpful and smiley. We stayed in one of the Executive Suites which overlooked the Mekong River. Our bedroom had a loveseat and the view was absolutely beautiful. The suite had a small kitchen, a sitting room with a large tv and windows that also overlooked the garden and Mekong. The pool is warm and a wonderful place to relax. The water was warm. There are bathrooms with shower facilities. We had breakfast included and the only negative is that every day has exactly the same things, therefore, if you stay for multiple days then it's rather repetitive. A few different items each day would be better. The grounds are pristine and so beautiful. We hired a scooter via Mr Ken on reception (he's super helpful) and it's about 10 minutes scooter ride into the main road in town. There's also a free shuttle from the hotel and we used this most evenings. It's extremely convenient. We'd definitely stay again.”

“Love the experience here. It’s directly connected to Mekong so you get the best river view. The hotel is very nicely constructed with loads of open space. The pool itself is a treat. The staff are really helpful and food is really nice, I had a lot of my protein from the restaurant over looking Mekong with one of the best sun sets. I’d totally come back, they have a great gym if you like working out. I should definitely stay longer next time. Laung Prabang is the place to be.”

“Cannot say how much I loved this hotel. The staff, impeccable, the food excellent, the setting, felt like I was in a movie. If you want a chilled and relaxed time in Luang Prabang this is a must. If I go back to Luang Prabang I'm staying here. Came with my partner and they really made our special occasion extra special. So impressed”
