In the heart of the city, in the Plaza de las Monjas, there is a monument to Columbus which is one of the most important monuments in the city. The Cathedral of La Merced, the chapel in the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de la Cinta and Cortegana Castle are just a few of its other architectural treasures.
