“Was great we did all inclusive for 6 days and made the most out of the hotel and surrounding area in that time. Breakfast starts after 6 and the pools open at 8 so breakfast and then a swim is the way to go. The pools do close rather early though at 6 so swimming at night isn’t possible. The buffet was surprisingly above average but we were let down with the themed evening restaurants, the food wasn’t worth the value in most other than signori sassi. The pools were quite good but the water slides for kids looked basic, the swim up pool is a bit dead and we ended up spending most of our time in the pool near the entertainment stage. Most nights they had shows on we got to see mr paradox which was a magic show. Great surrounding area we went to the genial gardens and the Santa Maria pier. There were also many cats there that were all chill and liked pets”

“Fantastisk hotel og ferie☀️❤️❤️❤️ Jeg og venninnen min har vært her nå på én ukes opphold. Jeg fryktet det verste etter å ha lest anmeldelser: vi kjenner oss IKKE igjen. Har vi vært på samme hotel??? Vi har spist på buffé til både lunsj og frokost, spist frokost på Atlantis (for de som har The Level) - ingen har blitt syke. Maten er grei, og mye utvalg i buffet. På resturantene likte vi best Signora Sassi og Rancho (anbefaler biffene). Vi elsket at vi oppgraderte til The Level. Rom ligger rett ovenfor resepsjon. Det vi ikke visste er at vi kunne fått raskere innsjekk. Vi trivdes godt ved vårt eget basseng, hvor vi også hadde egen frokost servering om vi ønsket. Her fikk vi servert deilig appelsinjuice, kaffe, litt kaker og frokost etter meny🥰 Også kort vei til et bad på stranden fra bassenget vårt (ligger rett i nærheten av sjøen). Bassengområdet var rolig. Litt mer som skjer / litt mer lyd på hovedbassenget. På The Level bassengområdet blir man servert drikke gjennom dagen, og de kommer og spør om man ønsker snacks rundt 11-tiden. Som kommer da ca. Etter en god times tid. Av lunsj utvalg synes jeg da buffeten var bedre enn å spise på Aqua. Mye flott personal på hotellet. Ikke alle er like gode i engelsk- men det går bra når man er på denne paradis plassen. På The Level har vi fått rent og ryddig rom hver dag, hvis vi har hengt ut skilt. Kommer gjerne igjen😍😍😍”

“Gostaria de partilhar a minha experiência durante a estadia no vosso hotel. De uma forma geral, tem sido uma experiência positiva, sobretudo por não ter criado expectativas elevadas à partida. O hotel apresenta boas condições de conforto e comodidades que facilitam bastante a estadia de quem procura umas férias tranquilas, sem preocupações. Destaco também como ponto positivo a disponibilidade de opções de restauração e bares, com uma oferta variada de comidas e bebidas acessíveis 24 horas por dia. A programação de animação ao longo do dia é igualmente um aspeto relevante, com atividades distribuídas sobretudo durante a manhã e a tarde. No entanto, é precisamente neste ponto que identifico a principal área de melhoria. Enquanto instrutor de Zumba Fitness, sinto alguma dificuldade em aceitar a designação de “aula de Zumba Dance” atribuída a determinadas atividades. Na prática, o que é apresentado não corresponde a uma aula estruturada, mas sim a momentos em que os animadores dançam, focando-se mais na exibição dos seus próprios movimentos do que na orientação dos participantes. Falta, na minha perspetiva, uma componente pedagógica e técnica que justifique essa designação. Apesar do lema descontraído adotado (“no stress”), considero que deveria existir maior consistência e profissionalismo na condução destas atividades. Observa-se, por vezes, alguma desorganização, como pausas frequentes por parte dos animadores ou comportamentos pouco adequados ao contexto, como entrar na piscina após atividades físicas intensas. Acresce ainda a repetição da seleção musical ao longo da semana, independentemente da temática das sessões, o que reduz a diversidade e o interesse das atividades. Relativamente aos espetáculos, reconheço o esforço e dedicação por parte de alguns elementos da equipa de animação, particularmente daqueles com maior preparação. No entanto, considero que ainda existe margem para elevar o nível de qualidade, sobretudo ao nível do rigor e profissionalismo. Em suma, trata-se de um hotel com muito potencial, que poderia proporcionar uma experiência significativamente superior com alguns ajustes, especialmente na área da animação.”

“We stayed at the hotel in mid-March. Many reviews mention poor food—perhaps everyone just has different tastes—but overall, I liked it. A few notes: some types of fish contain small bones, which made them difficult to eat. The beef, pork, and desserts (especially the cakes) were tasty. I didn’t try the soups. The breakfast porridge was good, but it seemed a bit too sweet to me. It might be better to prepare it without sugar and let guests add sugar themselves if they want. There were always fresh fruits and vegetables available. As for greens, there were only lettuce leaves—no parsley or cilantro separately—so I had to pick them from the cheese garnishes when I wanted some. Room feedback: the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak (room 3009). There were large mugs in the room, but no small coffee cups, which made it difficult to use the coffee machine—unless you got creative pouring coffee into the big mugs. Housekeeping was done once every two days, but you could request additional cleaning if needed. It would be great if the rooms had mosquito repellents or some kind of traps. I brought mosquito spray with me, but it didn’t seem to work on the local mosquitoes. There are plenty of activities for children: a kids’ club during the day and a disco in the evening. You can leave your child at the club and relax by the pool. However, there are no changing rooms near the pool—only showers—which is not very convenient, as you have to go to the restroom to change. It would also be helpful to install hooks for bags in the restroom. Some people complained about rude staff, but I only had a positive experience—everyone was polite to me. The beach is very beautiful. There is a bay where the waves are calmer and you can swim, as well as areas with stronger waves, which are great for collecting shells with a child. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and plan to come back again.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Un séjour inoubliable au Meliã Dunas Beach Resort & Spa Notre séjour au Meliã Dunas Beach Resort & Spa à Sal a été une vraie réussite ! Les infrastructures sont magnifiques, les chambres spacieuses et les piscines parfaites pour se détendre. L’hôtel est impeccablement propre, et le personnel est d’une gentillesse et d’un professionnalisme remarquables. Côté restauration, le buffet est varié et de qualité, et les restaurants à la carte offrent des plats savoureux dans une ambiance agréable. Rien à redire, tout était délicieux ! Un petit conseil pour les éternels insatisfaits : Cabo Verde, c’est une île sauvage et authentique, pas une station balnéaire surpeuplée. Si vous cherchez des discothèques à tout prix, des burgers frites et une eau à 35 degrés, vérifiez bien votre destination avant de réserver… et arrêtez de gâcher la note des autres ! En résumé : un hôtel 5 étoiles à la hauteur de ses promesses. On reviendra sans hésiter ! 🌴💙”

“Hyvä hotelli hintaan nähden! Ruoka perusok, buffet ei ollu ihmeellistä. Varattavat ravintolat oli ihan kivaa vaihtelua, ruoka oli syötävää. Paras oli Sahel! Meillä oli level-upgrade jota suosittelen! Hintaan nähden todella hyvä, oma rauhallisempi allasalue lähellä merta, jossa myös lounas-snackkejä jotka hyviä. Myös loungessa paremmat juomat! Ja huoneet oli parempia sekä siistejä. Ja parempi aamupala rauhallisella alueella. Alacartesta mukavaa vaihtelua, mutta varaa pöydät heti! Level asiakkaana ne varattiin meille onneksi etukäteen, sekin etu siinä! Koko paikassa kiva tunnelma ja hyvä palvelu! Juomat viinasia, mutta aina voi pyytää vähemmän jos haluaa. Hotelli on tosi iso, ranta on kiva ja altaat mukavia. Pientä sekoilua check inissä, joka kuuluu asiaan. Bussi menee kahdesti aamupäivästä Santa Mariaan, taksi maksaa 5€ suunta. Rannasta ostimme matkan ”rantapojilta”jossa kierrettiin saaren parhaat nähtävyydet! Meni 6h, maksoi 25€ + pääsyliput (3-6€) ja ruoka. Suosittelen myös sitä! Taksi kentältä 25€ 2 henkeä laukkuineen, älä ota pakettimatkasi kallista kyyditystä - tue paikallista!”

“We recently stayed at Meliá Dunas Beach Resort & Spa through an all-inclusive package with easyJet Holidays (March 2026). While Meliá hotels in Spain are known for five-star standards, this resort felt closer to a three-star experience. Reception was understaffed, with waits of around 20 minutes. Housekeeping was inconsistent, on two occasions, towels were not replaced, and we had to reuse our beach towels. Pool/beach towels are only available after 10am and a €25 deposit per towel is required to pay. You get this money back when you leave. Rooms felt dated and in need of refurbishment. The resort is family-friendly with a kids’ club and slides, but pools were colder than the sea and largely unusable, one heated pool would make a big difference. The optional €50 upgrade was confusing. It includes spa access (which is not part of the standard all-inclusive and comes at an additional cost) and a €50 credit per adult for restaurants such as Cabana and Bikini Beach, but the structure didn’t make sense. For example, a lunch for four adults and two children could cost around €150, leaving €50 credit remaining, and then you could also use €50 credit per person at an evening restaurant, effectively resulting in a free meal with leftover credit. When we asked what benefit children receive as part of the upgrade, a member of staff advised that they could use the spa, despite children not being permitted to access it, which added to the confusion. Food quality was disappointing for a five-star resort. The buffet (Spices) was the best option, but still very average. À la carte restaurants were underwhelming, small portion sizes and paid options like Bikini Beach and Cabana were not worth the extra cost. We’d recommend eating in one of the restaurants at Santa Maria instead. Evening entertainment was enjoyable (Brazilian music, magician etc) and the beaches in Cape Verde are beautiful. If you are looking for a genuine five-star experience, we would not recommend Meliá Dunas Beach Resort & Spa. It may suit families such as us seeking an affordable all-inclusive holiday with children’s activities and beach access but expectations regarding service and food quality should be managed accordingly.”

“Resort agréable mais concept Adults Only très limité. Séjour de 10 jours / 9 nuits mi-février avec l’option The Level Adults Only. L’île de Sal est une île désertique où la plupart des produits doivent être importés. La nourriture dans les hôtels peut donc être répétitive mais reste globalement abondante et correcte. Points positifs : chambre spacieuse d’environ 40 m² avec balcon, parc agréable et bien entretenu, excellent petit déjeuner The Level au restaurant Atlantis et personnel généralement souriant. En revanche la maintenance générale laisse à désirer (douche bouchée à l’arrivée, chaises longues abîmées, équipements du spa partiellement hors service). Le ménage dans la chambre était irrégulier et la climatisation était systématiquement réglée à 17 °C après leur passage. Le point le plus décevant reste l’option Adults Only : la piscine dédiée est bien réservée aux adultes en journée mais le soir il n’existe aucun restaurant réellement réservé aux adultes. Le ressort possède un vrai potentiel mais plusieurs problèmes de maintenance et l’organisation de l’offre Adults Only rendent l’expérience mitigée.”

“En voyant certains commentaires, je me demande si nous avons séjourné dans le même hôtel… Pour ma part, j’ai vécu une très belle expérience et j’ai beaucoup apprécié cet hôtel. L’ambiance était excellente, avec un thème différent chaque jour, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable et dynamique. C’est vraiment plaisant de passer des vacances dans une atmosphère aussi conviviale. La chambre était propre et confortable, et la nourriture était bonne et variée. Le seul petit bémol concerne les linges de toilette dans la chambre. Ils ont été emportés pour être lavés et, malgré plusieurs demandes, nous n’en avons malheureusement plus reçu pour le reste du séjour. Mis à part ce détail, tout était très bien. “Vi var på Melia Dunas fra 1.3-8.3 og etter å ha lest andre anmeldelser var vi noe skeptisk før vi reiste. Vel nede viste det seg at vi ikke trengte å være så skeptiske. Personalet var hyggelige mot oss, det var rent på rommet og bestikke/ fatene/ glassene var rene. Vi spiste mye forskjellig mat og det var ingen av oss som ble syke/dårlige. Eneste vi kunne ønsket oss var at de byttet håndklær, men ellers var vi fornøyd og kunne gjerne reist tilbake.”

“I've just returned from a 10 day stay at Melia Dunas, the hotel stated that it was 5 stars, but at best it is 3 stars. Maybe it was 5 stars when it had just opened up. The rooms need modernising, the staffs need training on customer services. And they need to have more vegan and vegetarian options for people who doesn't eat meat and fish. I personally would not be recommending this hotel to anyone. They need more entertainment and a lot more things to do on the complex. The experience was a little disappointing.”
