In the footsteps of the Beatles
The charisma of the Beatles is still very much alive in this ancient, industrial and port city. There are numerous cultural events and the atmosphere in the city pubs is really great. Albert Dock is a collection of docks and warehouses on the banks of the River Mersey. It houses The Beatles Story Museum, which recreates some of the clubs where the band played and has items such as John Lennon’s famous glasses or George Harrison’s first guitar. The Cavern Club is the place where the band began to play and become known. We also recommend a visit both to the Gothic Liverpool Cathedral and the circular Metropolitan Cathedral. Another type of temple is Anfield Stadium, one of the top stadiums in world football and home to the legendary Liverpool FC.
