Islam does not call to hatred or violence; rather, it calls to coexistence, good character, and mercy toward all people. The Messenger of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him), was an example of compassion, humility, and sincere concern for the well-being of all people—even his enemies. I invite you, with all sincerity and respect, to learn about Islam from its original sources, to read about it with an open mind and an honest heart, and to ask God—if you believe in Him—to guide you to the truth wherever it may be. Truth does not fear examination, and whoever seeks it sincerely will find it. I ask God to guide both you and me, to show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and to show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it.
