Sand dunes, beaches and lunar landscapes
In the interior of the island, the lunar landscape of the Roque Nublo viewpoint has a huge rock shaped like a monolith and more than 65 metres tall, making you feel like an astronaut without ever leaving Earth. In the south, the 400-hectare Maspalomas Dunes and the beaches of Playa del Inglés and Puerto Rico are major attractions. Another great activity in Gran Canaria is a hike in the Los Tilos de Moya Nature Reserve. The villages of Teror and Tejada, regularly named among the most beautiful towns in Spain, are also places you should explore. Not forgetting the capital, Las Palmas, where Las Canteras Beach has a surprising seabed which is protected by a natural barrier of stone and coral. A great way to end the day is with a walk through the old district of La Vegueta or with a drink in Puerto de Mogán.
