Average hotel! Not worth the huge amount of money charged. The room had dirty stains all over the floor and furniture. The place is absolutely noisy with all the kids. The all-inclusive food is good, but I felt like the taste varied every day, and not in a positive way. The canteen is absurdly noisy. The only positive side of this hotel is the location, as it’s close to the beach, but it still doesn’t justify the price they charge in September.

Wir haben nur eine Nacht im Hotel verbracht. Das Zimmer ist geschmackvoll und modern und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Alles passt und daher nix zu meckern. Im Gegenteil die Dusche ist zwar klein aber richtig kräftig und richtig heißes Wasser. Das Personal, egal ob Rezeption, Bar oder Frühstück, ist sehr nett. Nicht nur professionell freundlich sondern wirklich nett. Man fühlt sich deshalb sehr wohl. Trotzdem gibt es einige kleine Dinge, di uns nicht so gut gefallen haben: im Badezimmer hat es nach Rauch gerochen, der Frühstücksraum ist zu klein für die Zahl der Tische, die deshalb sehr eng stehen und im Saunabereich gibt es gerade mal drei Liegen zum entspannten Ruhen. Der Gesamtindruck ist aber deutlich positiv. Eine Adresse, die wir München wieder buchen würden.

I stayed at InnSide Melia this past week while visiting New York, and while the overall vibe was cool, there were a few bumps that made my stay less than perfect. Let’s start with the room—specifically, the city view I paid extra for. After a 10-hour travel day, I was really looking forward to a view that matched the pictures I saw online. Unfortunately, when I got to the room, I was underwhelmed. I thought there was a mix-up, so I tried calling the front desk to clear it up, but I couldn’t get through (more on that later). So, I did the only thing I could think of—I lugged my bags back down to the lobby. When I spoke to the front desk, they explained that their definition of a “city view” isn’t about what the window actually faces—it’s about the fact that the room is on the 17th floor. 😅 Definitely not what I was expecting, but I was too tired to keep going back and forth, so back up to the room I went. The next morning, I was starving and ready to order room service, only to find out that every item on the menu was marked as “unavailable.” I called the front desk (after they sent an engineer up to fix my phone, which didn’t get fixed), and they told me the restaurant that handles room service sometimes just goes offline—no other options were available. Not ideal, especially when you’re running on empty. Also, I had my “Do Not Disturb” sign on, hoping to sleep in, but that didn’t seem to matter. Knock knock… twice or three times in the morning, followed by a call asking when I’d be leaving so they could clean my room. Super annoying, especially when all I wanted was a few extra hours of sleep. On the bright side, the location was great, the rooms were a good size for New York (I’m impressed!), and I appreciated the complimentary drinks. Overall, the hotel has a lot of potential, but a few of these hiccups really affected my stay. With a bit of fine-tuning—like clarifying what “city view” actually means and improving communication with the restaurant—I’d definitely be back. Here’s hoping they iron those out because the vibe is pretty cool!
