“Ignore the negative reviews. They almost put me off staying in this wonderful hotel. Book a Cathedral Sea view room! You will not be disappointed! Our balcony was the icing on the cake. From the sunrises every morning to sitting of an evening after a busy day exploring & watching the activity in the port & in the skies. People watching the comings & goings on the super yachts & mega yachts was fascinating. We discovered a beautiful cathedral city, with a fabulous food scene, roof top bars & a glamorous harbour filled with super yachts & mega yachts giving a glimpse to a totally different world. Palma is a shopaholic’s delight (if thats your thing). We uncovered a slower Mallorca, as if you have stepped back in time, full of culture & history with picture perfect mountain scenery, dreamy villages with quant stone houses, cobbled streets & squares filled with interesting shops, bakeries, grocery stores & eateries: Valldemossa💚 Deia💚 Sóller & Port De Sóller🩵 PALMA… Our hotel was an easy 25 minute walk along the prom to the city & cathedral. Palma has a very extensive & efficient city bus service which we took advantage of often - we still clocked up 29 walking miles!!! Using google maps we could easily see which buses would be passing our hotel. There were a bus stops at the back of the hotel & also on the prom side, so we had at least 5 routes that passed by regularly. TAKE sushi 50yards from hotel is fab As is BarDia tapas in the city. TIB operate a well connected bus service throughout Mallorca, we found it efficient & easy to use. We used it for day trips to Valldemossa & Deia. Then to return back from Port de Sóller (we went via the 100 year old train). Again used google maps to find bus stops, routes & timetables. As foodies, discovering an interesting & diverse food scene has guaranteed this wont be our last trip to Mallorca. We have enjoyed some fantastic meals & already craving the tapas we had at Port De Sóller - El Sabor 💚Valldemossa💚 OMG where to start….. This place was so dreamy💚 Famous for its quaint stone houses, we found the architecture mesmerising, the craftsmanship with the dry stone walling was very impressive as were the stunning views. We loved exploring the shady cobbled alley ways, the houses are so cute & beautiful, & people watching from a sunny terrace. Valldemossa exudes an irresistible romantic allure💚💚💚 However the boutique shops (that I could of spent a day wandering around) quant cobbled squares, abundance of floral displays that garnish alleyways & the charming cafe culture means its oozing ‘girl trip’ vibes too 🛍️🛍️☕️💐 A truly captivating, picturesque mountain village, surrounded by Olive and Almond groves, nestled in the Tramuntana mountain range that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We also visited Deia - 15 minutes further on the 203 bus, however as we arrived an epic thunder storm started so we spent the 2 hours in a lovely cafe eating our way through their tapas menu. So we would love to go back. Sóller 🍊- Charming town in the Tramuntana mountains that sits in the heart of the ‘valley of oranges’ 🍊🧡🍊Known for its 16th-century church, Sant Bartomeu, and this iconic vintage train & trams. Gorgeous cobbled alleyways to explore along with lovely shops & boutiques aswell. We left Palma city on the 1912 historic train, traveling through the picturesque countryside & farm land with citrus fruits & trees filled with almonds, figs & olives. The hour-long journey takes you to another time and another Mallorca as it cuts straight through the mountain via tunnels giving way to stunning mountain scenery. Port de Sóller 🧡- reached by its famous trams, it sits in a picture perfect horseshoe bay surrounded by mountains. This picturesque little seaside village & fishing harbour with its horseshoe prom is lined with hotels, shops & eateries & is as idillic as it sounds. We had a fabulous day exploring, they are both utterly stunning, we would love to come back & maybe stay in the port next time 🍊🍊🍊”
