“We stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon and I genuinely had the best time. The attention to detail and the entire experience was absolutely fantastic. Mosses was a huge help before our arrival answering all our questions and helping sort 2 x transfers and a game drive- the responses were quick and detailed. We had booked a transfer from Arusha to Serengeti and booked this through the hotel. We had an issue and brought this up on arrival- we felt our original guide/ transfer driver didn’t align with what we wanted out of this experience. E.g when animals were crossing the road in the Serengeti, he wouldn’t slow down and multiple times we had to look behind to see if they’d made it across. We also felt he was penning in and following animals far too close and it felt like we were in a zoo and I was so uncomfortable with this. Now this isn’t The Melia’s fault- the game drives/ transfers are contracted out to a company. BUT how they dealt with this was amazing from the moment we brought it up. Yusuph and Martin were incredible and said right away that they would change our driver, they were super apologetic and would check in throughout our stay to make sure all was good (and it absolutely was), and Martin gave us his card so we could contact him if we needed anything etc. The care we felt and the things they put in place to sort the issue (which wasn’t directly theirs) was incredible. We had a different guide assigned - Elikana and truly he was WONDERFUL. We absolutely loved our game drive and transfer back. Elikana is so knowledgeable and happy to answers all our questions. Took us to some wonderful spots and we saw so many incredible animals. He was so kind, always checking in on if we wanted to stop/ eat/ search for certain animals/ have rest breaks etc. He was patient whilst we observed animals and never rushed us to move on. His driving was great and so respectful and he taught us so much about the area. Another absolute highlight for us was the food. Absolutely fantastic. Every breakfast, picnic hamper whilst on a game drive, lunch, evening meal, lunchbox on the last day was delicious. Food was so plentiful I don’t think I was allowed to be hungry once the entire time! My husband is vegetarian and they had equally delicious options for him also! We had the most special meal on the last night right down on the poolside and it was something I’ll never forget. The staff are absolutely wonderful. All so polite and always checking in and asking about our day. The staff in the guest services, shops, bar, restaurant, rangers etc couldn’t do enough for us. The Masai have such an expansive knowledge of the area and were so interesting to speak to. Water pressure for the shower can be quite slow at times but you’re in the middle of the Serengeti so it’s expected. Another highlight was the walking safari, accompanied by a ranger and a Masai, we were in great hands. The coolest opportunity and so glad we did this. Also factor in a day to just chill. We absolutely loved just spending time at pool watching the animals from here, it was magical! All around a fantastic stay and we couldn’t have wished for a better time.”

“Wir hatten das große Glück, unsere Tansania-Reise in der Meliá Serengeti Lodge zu verbringen – und es war einfach außergewöhnlich. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den absolut weltklasse Service. Vom ersten Moment an haben wir uns bestens betreut gefühlt. Ein großes Dankeschön an Martin und das gesamte Team, die sich sogar um alle Probleme zu Beginn unserer Reise professionell und zuverlässig gekümmert haben – das war alles andere als selbstverständlich. Auch im Nachgang wurde sich weiterhin bestens gekümmert, obwohl wir bereits ausgecheckt hatten. Ein ganz besonderes Lob geht an unseren Game-Drive-Fahrer Anthony. Für uns ist er der beste Fahrer in der gesamten Serengeti. Mit seinem Wissen, seiner Erfahrung und seinem Engagement hat er unsere Safaris unvergesslich gemacht. Zunächst hatten wir einen herzlichen Empfang von Anthony am Seronera Airstrip. Nach einem Snack und Getränken haben wir direkt unseren ersten Game-Drive gestartet. Ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl. Auf den darauffolgenden Tageb hatten wir einen morgendlichen Game-Drive, einen Ganztages-Game-Drive sowie einen Ausflug in den Ngorongoro-Krater gemacht – und dank Anthony konnten wir dort tatsächlich die seltenen Nashörner sehen. Alle unsere Wünsche inkl. der Big-Five wurden erfüllt a und noch darüber hinaus! Das Essen war hervorragend, die Lodge makellos sauber, und die Freundlichkeit des gesamten Teams war beeindruckend. Wir sind schon viel um die Welt gereist, aber die Meliá Serengeti Lodge gehört definitiv zur absoluten Spitze. Eine klare Empfehlung – wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.”

“An incredible hotel with breathtaking views over the park. The rooms are spacious, with hot water and beautifully detailed décor. The food is varied, and premium drinks are included, which really elevates the experience. Martín, the manager, took exceptional care of us throughout our stay. He was always attentive, making everything feel personalized and genuinely warm. The team seems happy and works in great harmony, which you can truly feel as a guest. Highly recommended!”
