“The reviews for this resort are mostly positive, but when scrolling through all of the reviews, there are some bad ones that stand out. Given this, we (me and my girlfriend) were cautiously optimistic about this place, and I am happy to say our stay was very good. First of all, the staff are very nice and helpful. I would like to specifically mention Kelton (very attentive during breakfast and lunch), Armindo (the top grillmaster), Tamilson, Jercy (altough she was new during our stay, she was very nice), Verino. As for the food, we were very satisfied. I guess some people in the reviews say the food lacks variety, but we didnt feel that way, there was always at least something to choose. I also have quite a lot of allergies (peanuts, nuts, soy etc), so a big positive for me were digital labels with names of the food and icons with the allergens present in the specific food. Sometimes I feel the allergens were listed quite prudently, but better safe than sorry. Even with my restrictions due to allergies, I never went hungry - quite the opposite lol. The room was clean and pretty quiet, we were not sure if the walls will be thick enough but we didnt hear guests from other rooms at all. We had our water and drinks in the fridge refilled as was stated - if we ever ran out, we could always ask for a bottle of water at one of the bars anyway. The towels were not changed that much, but again we didnt really care and there were always workers around, so it would not be an issue to ask if we wanted fresh ones I feel like. The resort itself - I feel its could be called medium-sized, meaning it was not too far either to the main restaurant or to the beach and the ocean. One BIG positive is the fact that there are breakwaters on either side of the Bikini beach club, which creates a mini-bay much more suited for swimming and snorkeling than a beach out in the open given the windy nature of Sal. For snorkeling, we got a snorkeling trip ane a Catamaran trip as well, but ironically the best snorkeling was actually in the water next to the Bikini beach club. The trips were not worth at all, but if you are patient and look attentively, you can sometimes meet turtles in the water next to the Bikini beach club (we were lucky mostly on the left side). This review was already quite long, so I will just end it with a tip - some guests were saying they had stomach issues - the best way to mitigate this risk (which is always present in resorts with a lot of people anyways - we had some too after returning, but we could have caught it on one of the day trips or during travelling home, you can never be sure with these things) - is to USE THE DISINFECTANT which is plentitul in the Melia Llana - at the bars or at the entry to the restaurant. Thank you if you have read this far and if you choose this place, wish you a nice trip 😎”

“What a great place and Sidney from The Level looked after us SO well. Magical holiday”

“First time in Cape Verde and we were impressed on the whole. Resort was nice, Food & Drinks were good (which in my opinion, is unusual for an all inclusive resort). The staff were fantastic ❤️. The beds were big but rather hard and the mosquitoes were INSATIABLE but that is not the fault of the resort. The colony of cockroaches that we shared our room with on the other hand...... 😳 All said and done, We had a good time and would happily return. 🙂”
