Los Cristianos has one of the most active fishing ports in the south of Tenerife, with an artisanal fleet that unloads daily. The restaurants on the seafront promenade and around the port serve the catch of the day with specialities such as parrotfish, wreckfish, sea bream, common dentex, octopus, and fish stew.
To purchase raw products, the port fish market is the original source: check opening times and details in the guide to markets and street markets in Los Cristianos.
For authentic Canarian cuisine in Los Cristianos, you have to leave the tourist circuit and look in the town centre, in Guaza, or in Las Galletas (about 15 minutes by car). The essential dishes are the same as in the rest of the island: papas arrugadas with mojo, watercress soup, goat meat, cherne (wreckfish) with onions, rabbit in salmorejo, and desserts such as bienmesabe, frangollo, or sweet potato pastries.
For a more rural Canarian guachinche experience, it is worth travelling to the north or the interior of the island (Tacoronte, Santa Úrsula).

Los Cristianos and the neighbouring Playa de las Américas concentrate a wide international offer, with steakhouses, Italian and Asian cuisine, and menus for families.
The tascas in the town centre and the bars with a set menu are the best way to eat well for less than 20 €. The profile: a first course of soup, a second course of fish or meat with a side dish, homemade dessert, and house wine.
They are the perfect option for the afternoon, with beers and snacks at a reasonable price between lunch and dinner

Extension of the promenade with international chains and beach restaurants. Very family-friendly. Las Vistas beach is one of the quietest in the south, and the beach bars in the area are open all day.

Los Cristianos combines traditional Canarian cuisine, fresh fish from the port, international options, and local tascas, with prices generally more reasonable than in neighbouring Costa Adeje. The fishing port and the seafront promenade are home to the majority of the seafood restaurants. On the other hand, the Las Galletas and Guaza area, just a few minutes' drive away, offers more authentic Canarian houses.
