Los Cristianos does not have just one market, but three very distinct spaces that perfectly reflect local life in the south of Tenerife: the well-known street market, the Arona Farmers' Market and the fresh fish stalls by the pier. Each one offers a different experience, from shopping for clothes and handicrafts to local produce and the catch of the day.
This guide brings together all the markets in the area with opening hours, locations, what to buy at each one and practical tips for organising your morning of shopping in the south of Tenerife. If you are planning your entire trip, our guide to what to see and do in the south of Tenerife and our tour of the best towns on the island may also be useful, with stops very close to Los Cristianos.

Los Cristianos is one of the few destinations in Tenerife where there is an open market practically every day of the week. In this table you will find a summary of the three main markets:
| Days | Market | Opening hours | Location | Product type |
| Tuesday | Los Cristianos street market | 9:00am-3:00pm | Av. Juan Carlos I, next to the Arona Gran Hotel | Textiles, souvenirs, handicrafts |
| Alternate Thursdays | Arona Farmers' Market | 8:00am-2:00pm | Plaza de La Pescadora, seafront promenade | Fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey |
| Fridays and Saturdays | Farmers' Market (main site) | 8:00am-2:00pm | C/ Cooperativa 2, Valle San Lorenzo | Fruit, vegetables, wine, handicrafts |
| Sunday | Los Cristianos street market | 9:00am-3:00pm | Av. Juan Carlos I, next to the Arona Gran Hotel | Textiles, souvenirs, handicrafts |
| Tuesday to Sunday | Fish market | 7:00am-2:00pm | Next to the port, La Gomera ferry terminal area | Fresh fish and seafood |
The Los Cristianos street market extends along Avenida Juan Carlos I, on the esplanade next to the Arona Gran Hotel and opposite Los Tarajales beach, between the streets Sierra Nevada and Avenida de Ámsterdam. It is the most visited street market in the south of the island and a regular fixture for both tourists and residents of the municipality of Arona.
Seafront promenade area, textiles and accessories: here you will find plenty of stalls selling clothes, handbags, belts, sunglasses, watches and footwear. It is very popular for housing trendy garments inspired by international luxury brands at very affordable prices. Haggling is part of the experience: with a little patience, you can get discounts of between 20% and 40% off the initial price.
Interior area, handicrafts and souvenirs: a quieter space where you will find ceramic figures, magnets, T-shirts with Tenerife motifs, natural cosmetics based on Canarian aloe vera, handmade soaps, vinyls, second-hand books and decorative items.

The Arona Farmers' Market is the authentic alternative to the street market. There are no imitations or souvenirs: the stalls are managed directly by local farmers and producers who sell to the consumer without intermediaries. It is probably the best way to discover produce from the south of the island without travelling to the best agricultural towns in Tenerife.
It is located at Calle Cooperativa 2, Valle San Lorenzo, about a 15-minute drive from Los Cristianos, and is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
Free transport:
A free bus connects the tourist area with the market. It leaves at 9:00am from the El Columbus stop (El Dorado shopping centre), makes 7 stops around the tourist area and returns at 11:00am. It operates on Fridays and Saturdays.
Since 2024, the Farmers' Market has had a fortnightly extension in Los Cristianos: it is set up every alternate Thursday from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the Plaza de La Pescadora, next to the seafront promenade. The offer is similar: fruit, vegetables, honey and pastries in a smaller format. You can check the exact dates by calling the market or on the Arona City Council website.

Few visitors know about the Los Cristianos fish market, and that is precisely what makes it special. It consists of several kiosks next to the port, in the car park area near the La Gomera ferry terminal. It operates as a fishmonger's open to the public with locally caught produce.
The opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, from 7:00am to 2:00pm (closed Mondays). The establishment offers fresh locally caught fish, including parrotfish, wreckfish, dentex, black seabream, octopus and squid, with prices notably lower than those in the fishmongers' in the tourist centre.
It is an ideal stop for those staying in an apartment with a kitchen, as buying here and cooking becomes one of the best gastronomic experiences in the south of Tenerife. For those who prefer not to cook, the same produce is served in Canarian guachinches and local restaurants; the restaurants in Los Cristianos guide includes the best addresses.

From the TF-1 motorway, take exit 72 towards Los Cristianos. For parking, please note that there is no covered public car park next to the venue. The best options are to look for free spaces on the street on Avenida de Ámsterdam or in the dirt car park enabled near the Arona Gran Hotel. On Sundays, the area gets completely full, so it is advisable to arrive before 9:30am to avoid driving around looking for a spot.
