“We stayed at the hotel from February 11th to February 18th and had a spacious double room with a terrace. The room itself was very large and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and every detail of our stay was carefully explained. The breakfast buffet was impressive, and the service staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. It was immediately noticeable how much the hospitality here differs positively from what we are used to in Germany. Everyone we encountered was polite, attentive, and genuinely kind. The hotel’s entertainment and programs were outstanding, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The housekeeping was excellent, and every request we had was fulfilled promptly and with care. We can only highly recommend this hotel. The combination of spacious rooms, exceptional breakfast, and outstanding service staff makes it an unforgettable experience. If you are planning a stay in Gran Canaria, this hotel is an excellent choice!”

“Wir waren vom 11. Februar bis zum 18. Februar im Hotel und hatten ein wunderschönes, geräumiges Doppelzimmer mit Terrasse. Schon bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir herzlich empfangen, und jedes Detail unseres Aufenthalts wurde uns mit großer Freundlichkeit und Professionalität erklärt – wir fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war einfach unglaublich – riesige Auswahl, liebevoll angerichtet und begleitet von einem Servicepersonal, das kaum zu übertreffen ist. Freundlichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und Herzlichkeit der Mitarbeiter machen den Aufenthalt hier wirklich besonders. Man merkt sofort, wie positiv sich der Service von dem unterscheidet, was wir in Deutschland gewohnt sind. Das Hotel bietet zudem ein fantastisches Unterhaltungsprogramm, und wir haben jede Minute genossen. Die Zimmerreinigung war tadellos, und jeder unserer Wünsche wurde prompt und mit großer Sorgfalt erfüllt – man fühlt sich hier rundum umsorgt. Wir können dieses Hotel von ganzem Herzen empfehlen. Die Kombination aus geräumigen Zimmern, exzellentem Frühstück, herausragendem Service und einem wunderbaren Ambiente macht den Aufenthalt unvergesslich. Wer nach Gran Canaria reist, sollte dieses Hotel auf keinen Fall verpassen – wir kommen definitiv wieder!”

“Zoals altijd was Sol Barbacan weer heel goed. Al het personeel is zeer betrokken en gastvrij. Het complex ziet er mooi en heel verzorgd uit. Een mooie bloeiende tuin en de accomodatie (bungalow) was ook keurig, gezellig en schoon. Het buffet, ontbijt en diner, was erg goed. Veel variatie en altijd alles vers. De bar is 's avonds gezellig. De receptie en de rest van het personeel is zeer betrokken bij alle gasten. Je voelt je er echt welkom. We komen zeker weer terug. Aanrader.”

“My family enjoyed staying at Sol Barbican. The 2-bed bungalows are great for families - a perfect combination of hotel amenities with some space and privacy for a family. Slightly odd the large bedroom has separated beds (kids room?) while the joint beds room is tiny - but I guess nice for kids to have room to play. Hotel was quiet in general compared to it's central location - almost like a secret oasis with plenty of restaurants nearby. Having putt-putt is a nice feature (carpet in serious need of replacement). Washer/dryer onsite is helpful. Island pool really was warm, while oddly the whirpool was cold. Main large pool is deep, too bad no walk-in entry for kids or it would be perfect. Reception staff was especially friendly - I shared a handful of small improvement suggestions and they were receptive. Service staff was hit/miss, most were friend but a few didn't seem unhappy - one was especially put off by my request for a pot for tea :| Nightly performers were better than expected for such a small crowd - the acrobat one evening really was entertaining! Breakfast and dinner buffets were very good for a relatively small hotel - I hope they decide to open the front courtyard in the sun for breakfast and provide tea pods. Lunch menu is unexpectedly large, even had caprese salad The low point was probably the kids club, very small room with (when we visited) a young man who clearly didn't know kids - told us none of the listed activities were actually done because "some kids might not want to do them". So when we showed up for crafts at 11am one day nothing was out. If you have activities listed - I'd suggest actually doing them to get kids involved. So as long as you don't expect an amazing kids club, definitely check out Sol Barbacan for a nice stay and great value.”

“El hotel es un encanto. Es muy familiar con poco ruido. El buffet del desayuno es muy correcto, pero el de la cena es muy aburrido: siempre hay, prácticamente los mismo. Respecto a Bungalow 31, le falta un aire acondicionado/bomba de calor en la sala de estar, un poco mas de mobiliario en la habitación principal (la que tiene el baño en suite) y sobretodo, la cama es un infierno. Nunca había echado, tanto en falta, mi cama con colchón de viscolástica, donde el colchón se adapta al cuerpo. La rosca que marca la altura de la sombrilla está pasada y no hubo manera de poder levantarla. La limpieza, detrás de la camas, deja mucho que desear. Pero a pesar de los pesares, volveré el próximo diciembre a pasar las navidades y el fin de año, otra vez. Porque es general, me encantó Sol Barbacan.”
