(Translated by Google) The hotel was very clean, and the staff were attentive. The Wi-Fi was terrible, and the food was very disappointing. The beach was full of sargassum seaweed, and the brown water made swimming impossible.

It was a decent all inclusive. Wifi was spotty. First day we came, greeted by bellboys and then went to check in as the online check in wasn’t working. Met Hannah who was helpful in introducing us to the hotel but informed us that they are going through Reno’s and tried to ask us to go to a 45 min presentation in exchange for a $70 usd romantic dinner or one day at the level to get a cabana bed. We were so exhausted we declined. We got a call at 8:30 the next morning from her reminding us to see guest services to book for the included restaurants. We booked a night at the fish house and the yucatan restaurant and a magic show evening. Every restaurant has a separate menu if you wanted to pay extra otherwise all included. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed the service from Jorge, Anna, Emilio, and Feliciano from the mosaico buffet. The pool bar was great and Santiago made the best drinks. I only had mocktails but they were fantastic. Lots of seaweed and at night, some of the night entertainment or Renos can be heard through the walls of the hotel and kept us up. Sometimes some kids didn’t adhere to the adult pool being adults only. Not hard to secure lounge spots. Very few bugs around. A few dead cockroaches noted in the one public bathroom but otherwise the maids work very hard to keep everything clean. We loved grabbing ice cream at the latte station and they had entertainment throughout the day with activities, tennis court, etc. Massage lady coming around daily to offer massages for a price. Food was alright and dinners had different themes but the oriental theme was very lacking. Overall we had a good time! Close to airport so that was nice. Also ramps everywhere so it was super accessible. I noticed a few people in wheelchairs having no issues getting around. Rooms came with included mini bar with drinks. Bring your own snacks if you like to snack on chips or whatever throughout the day. Grackles were noisy as well.

What a great week at this wonderful property! We went with a group of 4 families, totaling 14 people, kids and adults. We have been to many all inclusive resorts in Mexico so I will try and use my experience to describe the great and the not so great. 1. The family suite level up rooms are fantastic. The rooms are very large and it is wonderful to have a separate room for the kids. The toliet is in the same room as the shower, which is how most rooms are so not a negative, just an fyi. 2. The resort is a smaller resort compared to the chain resorts in Cancun. So you do lose out on some options but you more than make up for it with personal service. The staff is really what made our vacation remarkable. Guadalupe was just so fantastic. She was our server at the family pool and took such amazing care of us. She made sure that everyone in the group including the kids had a fresh drink at all times. By the end of the week she knew our orders and had things ready without even asking. Proactively before going on break she would make sure we were taken care of! Alfonso was our level concierge and he helped immensely to make sure our group was well taken care of. In addition to having a large group, half of the group was vegetarian which can be a challenge. He made sure to get us group reservations at the two restaurants and even though they couldn’t get us in for dinner and magic show he figured out a way to get our group in to at least see the magic show. Additionally he helped introduce me to the two chiefs, Alan and Jose and they were just exceptional. I would talk to them before dinner and they were able to make special, delicious meals for the vegetarians. The two restaurants had solid vegan menus that worked for us. Jorge was great at breakfast always greeting us with a huge smile and never blinking an eye when kids kept joining and moving tables. There were way too many exceptional people to specifically name, but I have to say the strength of this resort is their staff. Everyone is extremely caring and they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful and relaxing. 3. We visited during a time when there was a ton of seaweed which made it impossible to go out and swim from our beach. Luckily you are able to just walk on the beach to the neighboring resort and swim off their beach. Really not much of an inconvenience as the properties are very close and the resort is overall small. There were tons of fishes right off the beach which made swimming and snorkeling a lot of fun. 4. There was never an issue getting a chair by the beach or pool, which can be very frustrating at other resorts. Even with the resort 93% full it felt empty which was amazing as you never had to wait in line for anything. 5. Enrique, who seemed to manage the activities, was so fun, and always had a smile on his face. The casino night and live bands he was managing were great! So in summary I would say this place is fantastic and a steal for its price point. The rooms are huge and the staff is wonderful. If you are looking for a super high end luxury hotel then this may not be for you, but otherwise I would say most people will be extremely happy with this resort. Hope to come back and visit soon!

I visited Mélia back in Dec 2025 and had an amazing time. Cynthia at the Fish House and Diego (pool concierge at The Level) made our stay even more memorable! They are such kind, genuine people, and it really shows in the way they treated us (and other guests) during our stay. The food was great, we never went hungry. The grounds were clean and there was always space at The Level on the beach. I would highly recommend The Level, if possible. The quality of the beach water does get impacted by the weather (rain/storm). The beach was murky the last few days of our stay but that is beyond the hotel’s control. One thing to watch out for is the gift shop. When I went in there I was quoted one price for an item and an hour later the same lady at the gift shop quoted me a higher price. All in all, I would return to Melia if I could guarantee good weather.

Resort was small but nice. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially Abril at the thw activity center and Ian. Rooms were basic but clean. Dinner at the fish house was great everytime we ate there, service was amazing. Overall the resort was a good value for the price and worked out perfectly for out scuba diving trip in Cozumel.

Abril and Ian were absolutely incredible. The resort itself was very clean, but what truly made the experience stand out was the staff. Ian went out of his way every single day to make sure we had vanilla for our coffee, which was such a thoughtful touch. Abril remembered our names and, every time she saw us, would stop to say hello and check in on how everything was going. Everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive—there was never a moment where we felt anything less than well taken care of. Everything we needed (and more) was always available, and the level of service made the entire stay feel effortless. We’re so grateful to the entire team—truly an amazing experience.

This is my 29th year coming to Melia Cozumel as a member. Over the years many things have improved. The resort has been kept up cross all the years particularly the buildings pools, recreation areas and service areas. The stay was from March 15th to March 21st 2026 1. The staff is very good particularly Francisco, Eric at level and Gerardo concierge. Vennesa Feliciano-omelette cook, Nemesio, Cocinera Lupita (4 perfect Quesadillas 2. Sunday breakfast buffet staffing was very good, they were very friendly and very fast, checking on the table frequently. 3. Sunday the lunch was at the Level snack bar by the adult pool. The seafood ceviche was excellent and the staff was very friendly and pleasant. She made great burgers and quesadillas. 4. Monday morning: The staff at the family pool was busy cleaning the umbrella standing and sweeping up any sand. Good attention to detail! 5. The family pool coffee staff did a great job and was very pleasant 6. Breakfast at Fish House: Jorge wait staff and Adrian did great! 7. At Fish House Breakfast: Adrian keeps busy cleaning the tables and chairs, nice attention to details. Jorge and Adrian work well together setting up tables with plates etc. Jorge brought extra napkins near the kids which was a nice touch thinking ahead 8. Tuesday Breakfast Fish House: Martin, Elena very friendly, Anyeli serving coffee and table maintenance was very helpful. 9. General comment that WiFi in the room 502-503 is pretty slow. 10. Mole Mexican dinner Tuesday: Hector, Erik, the wait staff, were very friendly and attentive with the service 11. March 18 breakfast Buffet: Nemesio, Christophe-made quesadillas for special needs child, Veronica, Antonio and Rosa all do an excellent job! 12. Mole snack: Adrian is another excellent staff. 13. Dinner Thursday buffet: Angela did a great job ensuring we had drinks and the table was cleared frequently. Very friendly and pleasant 14. Breakfast Fish House: Martin, Adrian and Anyeli nice job this morning again. 15. Fish house dinner: Francisco always does a great job, very personable and welcoming, Justo was our second waiter who is a bit quieter and also very nice with an easy smile, nice job! And Ian served dessert and was also very pleasant. 16. Breakfast Fish House: Adrian and Jorge once again very friendly and attentive Overall, Francisco and Veronica as supervisors for great job and really good with the guest! The challenge for Cozumel overall is the impact of global warming on Sea Grass growth and the Melia Cozumel has its share of it loading the beach after a storm for three of our seven days. The Sea Grass as it decays gives off a sulfur smell which can make you feel sick. By local government rules, the sea grass can only be removed by hand to protect the sandy beaches. But when there is a large massive influx, it can take 3-4 days to remove thereby making the beach area challenging. The pool areas are far enough away so they still work well. The staff at the pools and beach area do a good job coming around to take drink and snack orders.

Pros: The Level upgrade gives you a beautiful, big room with ocean view. Our concierge was great and very friendly. Bali beds and palopas on the beach for The Level are wonderful but you must set up reservations for your stay as soon as you get there, they fill up fast. Long walkable beach, not overcrowded, nice sand. Walking distance to awesome snorkeling (but not onsite). Large property with great entertainment every night (don't miss Sunday night's Mayan show, amazing!). Friendly, helpful staff. Cons: Water is not Caribbean blue and often brown due to pier. Lots of seaweed. Food is meh. The reservation-only restaurant Fish House is terrible. It's basically repurposed food from the buffet. No local/fresh seafood. Grounds are ok, not a lot of flowers or tropical elements. Although snorkel equipment is included with the all inclusive, you can only use it for hour and on-site only and there is no on-site snorkeling whatsoever. We were able to rent a snorkel for the week for just $20 though.

Our daughter’s wedding at Melia Cozumel this past Friday was magical. The concesus of our 56 guests was that Melia put on one of the best weddings they had ever attended. We had selected Melia last year for our daughter’s wedding after touring several potential resorts. Melia was our choice because of how attentive the staff was and how beautiful and quiet the resort is. The staff absolutely matched and exceeded our inintial impression. The wedding and reception areas were prepared with such care and beauty. The dinner served at our reception was delicious. Gabby did an outstanding job as master of ceremony and the DJ was awesome delivering very smooth transitions. The staff had decorated both the wedding ceremony and the tables with stunning flowers. The beach setting with lapping waves, palm trees and the night sky was magical. Moreover all the days leading up to the wedding our guests had a fantastic time and enjoyed the many dining options. My favorite was the taqueria serving up authentic tacos. The Mole restaurant next door delivered mouth watering Mexican specialties with incredible views of the ocean and the sunsets along with the ballads of Luis Miguel serenading diners. Having lived in Mexico, I really appreciated these two perfect representations of Mexican experiences. We were especially impressed with how clean everything was, how comfortable the mattresses were, and how well everything worked. A great big Bravo to team Melia and their big hearts!

We have just spent a delightful week at the Melia Resort in Cozumel. We received great attention from all areas of staff and would particularly like to recommend our Concierge at The Level - Geraldo. He has provided welcome information regarding hotel services, weather forecasts and sea currents and has responded with enthusiasm to all our questions. He fixed our remote on the TV, made sure our room booking was to our satisfaction and made a point of checking in with us regularly to make sure we were happy. He made our dinner reservations and went the extra mile in making our holiday special. We appreciated the lovely breakfasts in the Fish House and the services of Martin and Adrian. As well as Francisco in the Mole Mexican Restaurant. The Melia provides a wonderful relaxing escape from the northern winter wonderland.

Overall I would sure come back, but there is room for improvement. This hotel is smaller in size. everything is compact, easy to reach/find and you will not get lost as in some huge resorts. We stayed for 4 nights In Feb 2026 in the main building on 8th floor and all rooms facing the beach/ocean. Room overall was great, no issues there. Large, clean, good pillows, mattress a bit on a hard side. A/C worked but we had balcony door open for 4 days and did not use A/C at all. Food was simple, we have not been left hungry but the selection is limited and the chef leaves a lot to be desired. too many things are overcooked, or too greasy. Servers are good and attentive. Breakfast is about the same every day. Dinner is rotated and offer different cusine every night (we stayed 4nights). Itlaian and Mexican nights were good. Asian was not good. The Seafood house restaraunt was good, but I can't say it was much better over buffet. On a good day beach is excellent, except the swim area is limited in size. Beach is good/safe for kids. We walked over towards the hotels to the left and swam past the pier. Water is cleaner on that side too. When winds/swell come from north or North east the water will get cloudier. Debrie from mangoroves get blown down from the north side of the island. Water stay clean and blue behind the pier in a nearby hotel. But for best snorkeling on the island you'd have to drive any way. Occasionally there is a strong smell of sewer odor on the outside. Can not trace where it came from, was not from the water, probably from septic system vents. One day it was bad enough to where we had to close the balcony door on 8th floor. Spent morst of that day outside of the hotel. However that smell is noticable in many areas of the island, so I'm not going to put that against this hotel. Water is delivered daily in big trucks, so I assume there is no central water or sewer in this side of town.

(Translated by Google) This was my first time at a Meliá hotel, and it left much to be desired. It's a very basic and simple hotel where the only redeeming quality is the staff's attentiveness. We had very cold and windy days, with a lot of sargassum in the sea, so we couldn't enjoy the beach. The hotel also offers no activities or facilities to fill the day. The buffet food was very basic, with very little variety, and the quality of the drinks and the type of alcohol was also low.
