“Absolutely incredible stay at Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat. This place is truly unlike anything we’ve experienced, peaceful, unique, and completely immersive. What sets it apart is the people. The staff was outstanding across the board, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring in a way that feels rare. One of our favorite moments was hiking to the pagoda and temple with Quang Minh, such a special experience. The spa was also a highlight. My therapist, Lan Hoang, was incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive, one of the best treatments I’ve had. If I had to suggest one small enhancement, adding bubble bath or mineral salts for the tubs would be a beautiful extra touch. As a travel advisor, I will absolutely be recommending this property. We will be back.”

“We love mountain retreats and Melia Ba Vi is an excellent choice in the region. The staff are all lovely, always welcoming us with a smile, and happy to accommodate all our requests. The junior suite is spacious and has all the amenities we need for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable and our room attendant, Van, whom we have not met, did a wonderful job keeping the room clean and tidy. We visited in April during their low season and the resort was almost exclusive. Our favourite spot is definitely the gym, with its expansive full glass windows that were retractable, allowing you to fill our lungs with fresh mountain air. Though I would suggest replacing the yoga mats in the gym as they looked worn and were soaked with water that had leaked from the water dispenser. Weather in April is lovely with a mix of rainy and sunny days. Temperatures were cool. We love spending our afternoons at the 1902 lounge - both the indoor and outdoor seating are lovely. Breakfast is excellent, with a live eggs and pho station. The buffet spread is great; lots of pastries and bread, hot food options are your usual dim sum, porridge, fried rice, stewed beef, salad bars and fresh fruits. Clearly the kitchen team has a lot of heart and tries their best to introduce slight variations to the daily options. I genuinely enjoyed the pho and had countless bowls of broth during our 3 nights stay. In the spirit of improvement, I would recommend having a more differentiated meal menu across the restaurants/ in-room dining. The same menu, while varied, was presented in all of the F&B options across the resort. From Senses, Tonkin, 1902 and in-room dining, the same menu was presented. While there was a great variety, it felt a bit limiting. The service of all the staff is what truly stands out. When our scheduled Grab ride to the airport cancelled on us, Minh Dien from the Front Office promptly assisted us to arrange for a car. Always keen to improve, we were given a feedback form after every meal/service. While it was a great way to gather feedback, it was a bit of an overkill having filled more than 5 forms during our short stay. (Please don’t read this as a complaint, it’s not. Just genuine feedback for improvement.) Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back!”See more reviews
