“Myself and my partner stayed in the Melia Jardines in Tenerife for 6 nights half board in May 2026. Hotel overview: Built on a hillside, the hotel is beautiful, extremely well landscaped and clean, very clean. Our initial impression in the lobby was wow. Brace yourself for the stairs. On day one, familiarise yourself with the elevators and how to get from the main lobby to the pool. It’s a minimum 4 flights of stairs if you don’t use the elevator. Don’t forget anything if you go to the pool as it is a journey back up to your room and down again! Checkin: Seamless process. Shown to our room where we were greeting with a celebratory bottle of cava, compliments of the hotel. Room Positives: Clean and modern, stylish. What I would expect. All the furniture is sleek and modern. Fantastic black out blinds. A huge super king bed! It was huge! Plenty of wardrobe and hanging space with an ironing board and iron. The TV had a huge selection of channels including music and BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky News, etc. A stocked minibar was also available. Room Not So Positive: Balcony walls are quite low so if you are above average height, you can easily see into your neighbors balcony. It appears as though the tops of walls were designed to be used as planters for flowers but they are empty. The seats on the balcony were extremely uncomfortable. This hotel is on a hillside so a lot of the rooms have external doors and a lot of the rooms are in different standalone buildings. I would not like to be going to breakfast in the rain. Wear and tear on the rooms is common I know but plenty of wear and tear visible in our room: toilet seat loose, battery on safe needs replacing, floors badly damaged and marked, door frame of main door falling off, balcony sliding doors noisy when opening. In the bathroom, the bin in the bathroom was chrome which was discoloured showing the brown stains. The lighting in the bathroom was not great. Pools: you have two options. Pay extra for Level 1 which entitles you to use the pool on the lobby level. However this pool is tucked away and it’s just not as nice as the main pool. The main pool is on the lowest level so elevator or stairs needed. It’s larger, with a pool bar and gym. This pool needs some maintenance. A lot of white paint has peeled off on the floor of the pool so it always looks dirty. The pool water was always warm and clean. The bridges over the pool need maintenance also. The non slip strips have fallen off in areas. Some of the white plaster at the pool edge has also chipped away. Pool Towels: the towels are nice and thick. Towels are only available when the lifeguard starts which can be anytime from 930-1030 so a major tip is to hang onto your towel overnight and refresh during the day. Guests waiting impatiently for towels in the morning is a sight of amusement. Loungers: No sun lounger wars here. Loungers are plentiful, comfortable. I did read before travelling that there was a strict one hour limit to reserving loungers but that’s simply not true. Loungers can be reserved all day without sitting down once. The vibe around the pool was very chilled. Entertainment: Nightly entertainment in the hotel bar. Two acts per night starting at 730pm were all fantastic. Each night something different. Gym: Good gym with all you need for a cardio or weights workout. Sadly AC in the gym was not working the entire period we were there so it got hot and very sweaty! We still used the facilities daily and requested the AC was fixed daily but it never was. Local Amenities: there is a local store out the back gate, turn left and 150m on the left. Food: The breakfast was superb. The vast array of options ensures you shall not find yourself hungry. Sadly the dinner options were limited and lacked enthusiasm and choice, especially where meat is concerned and the main dishes. Staff: The staff were fantastic. Helpful, curious and friendly at every occasion. Guest Profile: In my honest opinion, sadly this hotel is not geared towards anyone with mobility issues.”

“We had a fantastic time here, this is the first 5* accommodation I’ve been to and it was EVERYTHING. We were 3 in a room and the rooms were SO spacious and comfortable with daily room service. The buffet is so good, it has so many different foods, I tried so many new things that I never thought I would! The staff are so lovely and welcoming, and the entertainment they set up every night is so thoughtful and enjoyable. The bars have DELICIOUS cocktails also (I drank so many daiquiris by the pool and so many martinis during the evening entertainment!). If you can afford I also definitely recommend trying the wellness center, I didn’t want the massage to end…! We will definitely have to come back, this is going to be my go to resort from now on :)”
