Mi marido y yo nos alojamos recientemente en el hotel Meliá Chamartín y, lamentablemente, la experiencia no estuvo a la altura de lo esperado para una cadena de esta categoría.
El hotel está situado justo enfrente de la estación, en un callejón sin salida que por la noche resulta poco agradable e incluso algo inseguro.
A nuestra llegada, durante el check-in, nos informaron de que nos habían hecho un upgrade a una habitación mejor situada en la primera planta. Sin embargo, la habitación dejaba bastante que desear: la mesa estaba llena de polvo, había un sillón roto y las amenities eran claramente insuficientes (una botella de agua y un solo cepillo de dientes para dos personas).
El desayuno tampoco cumplió las expectativas. No había opción de huevos fritos o a la plancha, únicamente huevos duros —que desprendían un olor poco agradable— y huevos revueltos.
Además, el primer día preguntamos por el parking y nos dijeron que el hotel no disponía de este servicio. Para nuestra sorpresa, en una de las salidas escuchamos que sí contaban con parking en la parte trasera, con pago obligatorio al entrar y no por horas, lo cual nos dejó bastante desconcertados.
Cabe destacar que hemos estado en otros hoteles de la cadena Meliá, así como en hoteles de su afiliación Sol, que tienen una categoría inferior, y en todos ellos hemos tenido mejores experiencias. Este hotel, sin duda, no está a la altura ni siquiera de un Tryp.
En general, una estancia decepcionante que no corresponde con los estándares que uno espera de esta cadena.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Meliá Chamartín hotel, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations for a chain of this caliber.
The hotel is located directly across from the train station, in a cul-de-sac that feels unpleasant and even somewhat unsafe at night.
Upon arrival, during check-in, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a better room on the first floor. However, the room left much to be desired: the table was covered in dust, there was a broken armchair, and the amenities were clearly insufficient (one bottle of water and only one toothbrush for two people).
Breakfast also failed to meet expectations. There was no option for fried or grilled eggs, only hard-boiled eggs—which had an unpleasant odor—and scrambled eggs.
Furthermore, on our first day, we inquired about parking and were told that the hotel did not offer this service. To our surprise, on one of our outings we overheard that they did have parking in the back, with mandatory payment upon entry and not by the hour, which left us quite bewildered.
It's worth noting that we've stayed at other hotels in the Meliá chain, as well as hotels belonging to their Sol affiliate, which are of a lower category, and we've had better experiences at all of them. This hotel, without a doubt, doesn't even measure up to a Tryp.
Overall, a disappointing stay that doesn't meet the standards one expects from this chain.
