Hotel Palacio de Avilés***** es un hotel (2003) instalado en el Palacio del Marqués de Ferrera (1648-52), en la Plaza España -la plaza mayor o del ayuntamiento- de Avilés (Asturies). Palacio barroco sobrio de mediados del s. XVII, obra del arquitecto municipal Bartolomé Velasco, de planta en escuadra con torre prismática en el ángulo, tres plantas -cuatro en la torre-. Sus jardines traseros fueron vendidos en dos partes: parque inglés (1976) y jardín francés (1998) al Ayuntamiento de Avilés. Fue encargo de don Pedro de León y Menéndez de Avilés -de la Casa de Trasona, hijo del capitán don Pedro Alonso de León, regidor de Avilés, y nieto de doña María Alfonso de Arango, hermana uterina del adelantado de la Florida, don Pedro Menéndez de Avilés-, abuelo materno de don Juan Alonso de Navia y Arango, I marqués de Ferrera (1700). Sirvió de residencia de los marqueses de Ferrera hasta 1998 y era alojamiento de la familia real española siempre que alguno venía a Avilés.

Sin duda si buscas exclusividad en un entorno mágico, este es tu hotel. Nos alojamos en Suite y todo bien en general. Mobiliario, vistas y terraza de ensueño. Desayuno ESPECTACULAR. Muy buen surtido, presentación y trato. Parking en el propio edificio (estrecho para entrada y ojo a las columnas, bien señaladas pero al invadir la plaza te puedes llevar un susto -cabría protegerlas-). En pleno corazón de Avilés y perfecta ubicación para moverte por la maravillosa Asturias. Edición 29/10/23: En esta ultima visita destacar la excelente atención de Andrea en Recepción y mantener todo lo dicho. Esta vez hemos tenido más cuidado en el parking.

He leído comentarios y comparto totalmente todo lo bueno, pues es un sitio muy agradable y la ubicación es perfecta. Pero también es cierto, que mis expectativas eran mayores y como bien añaden otros clientes, le faltan pequeños detalles, que debieran tener en cuenta y aplicar cuánto antes.
