If you have a free weekend or are available for two days in Seville , you’re in luck: you’ll have plenty of time to discover the most iconic locations and also to enjoy the atmosphere and lesser-known corners.

A balanced route combines history, culture, art and cuisine, designed to ensure you make the most of every day in the Andalusian capital.

Things to do in Seville in two days

Seville in 2 days allows you to stroll through its historic center and explore districts such as Triana or El Arenal, accompanied by parks, squares and delicious cuisine. The first day will focus on the most important monuments and the second will be dedicated to cultural tours and charming locations.

I suggest a tour which is organized by different areas so you can avoid long journeys and get in touch with the city’s real beat.

Before getting started, I recommend you take a look at this guide to places to see in Seville which provides more information about each location.

Day 1: Essential monuments in the historic center

Seville Cathedral and La Giralda

Start your visit at Seville Cathedral, an imposing Gothic temple declared a World Heritage Site. Don't miss the major altarpiece or the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Climb La Giralda to enjoy one of the most iconic views of the city.

Real Alcázar of Seville

Just a few meters from the Real Alcázar, a palace that combines the Mudejar, Gothic and Renaissance styles. The patios, event rooms and gardens are a genuine journey back in time.

India Files

Opposite the cathedral, the General Archive of the Indies houses unique documents about the history of the Americas. Although your visit is brief, it is still a highly recommended stop.

Santa Cruz district

Then lose yourself in the narrow streets of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter. Discover the Plaza de Doña Elvira or Agua Street, one of the most picturesque corners of Seville.

Plaza de España and María Luisa Park

In the afternoon, visit the María Luisa Park and Plaza de España, symbols of the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929. Wander among the Spanish tiles, canals and gardens, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Torre del Oro and Guadalquivir promenade

End the day walking alongside the Guadalquivir river and visiting the Torre del Oro for a beautiful view of the sunset.

Day 2: Charming neighbourhoods, culture and Sevillian cuisine

Triana district

Cross the Isabel II Bridge (also known as the Triana Bridge) and visit the Triana district, the cradle of flamenco and traditional ceramics. Stroll down Betis Street, visit the nearby artisan workshops and enjoy the local atmosphere. If you want to learn more, see our guide to what to see in the Triana district.

El Arenal and the Maestranza Bullring

Return to the other side of the river to explore El Arenal, home to the Real Maestranza bullring. The area is full of typical taverns which are ideal for tapas.

Seville Museum of Fine Arts

In the former convent of La Merced, the Museum of Fine Arts houses one of the most important collections of Spanish Baroque painting, with works by Murillo and Zurbarán.

Metropol Parasol (Las Setas)

Continue towards the Plaza de la Encarnación to go up to the Metropol Parasol viewpoint, popularly known as Las Setas de Sevilla. From here, you can see the old town with a bird's eye view.

Tapas and nightlife

To end this fascinating second day, enjoy a tapas dinner in the Santa Cruz district or alongside the river with typical dishes such as salmorejo, spinach with chicpeas or fried fish.

Squares, gardens and outdoor spaces

  • Plaza del Salvador: ideal for a drink at midday.
  • Jardines de Murillo: a green space next to the Santa Cruz district.
  • Alameda de Hércules: bohemian spirit in the evening.
