Meliá Vienna

I'd return to Vienna just to stay in this hotel. The room and Level breakfast were the highlights. The Family Room is a corner room with full-length glazing on two sides, and access to The Level perks. The quality and style in every detail of the room were staggering: the many rare materials and bespoke flourishes far exceed what you'd expect from a chain business hotel. The mattress was not too hard; the a/c was silent and effective, and the shower was a joy. There was no issue with noise, but the blackout blinds were a bit leaky. Level guests can have breakfast on the 57th floor with a wonderful view across the Danube (for all other guests, breakfast is served in a nearly windowless space on the ground floor, but the food is exactly the same). For that reason alone, the modest surcharge for The Level paid off. The Level Lounge was nice to have for a quick coffee and snack, but in a city like Vienna it is crazy to spend too much time in a soulless hotel bar. The fitness room on the 14th floor is open 24/7 with a workable selection of dumbells, cardio equipment and a multigym. A water dispenser, towels, apples and toilets are provided, but no changing or showering facilities. The location is much less isolated than it looks. Copa Beach is at the base of the hotel, offering free swimming, sunbathing and access to a riverside running/cycling path. The metro is less than 5 mins from the hotel via a lively pedestrianised route through an office district. With that, central Vienna and Hauptbahnhof can be reached within 20 minutes.

There's not a single thing i could complain about during my stay. The only thing that's definitely improvable, is the online booking. The pages are in different languages, some forms can't be filled out / changed, loading took sometimes minutes, and so on. It makes a very unprofessional impression. That said, aside of that, it was a perfect stay. Great service, staff very friendly, price was o.k, and the most important: At the reservation, i left a note that said "my girlfriend turned 30". That's it. Because of this note, a small birthday cake waited for her in our room with a hand written note, and during our stay in the restaurant 57, "happy birthday" was added with food coloring to the desert. It absolutely made her day. Thank you a lot @Melia Vienna Team! To sum it up: Only reservation was "meh", but the stay itself was perfect.

The Melia Vienna hotel was very pleasant. The team members, Veronica Chenevier, Ulrike Lattacher, and Karina provided exceptional service! They all made us feel welcome and made our stay memorable. The room was large, clean, & felt luxurious. The room could be updated with either new carpet or wood/tile flooring. Overall, we were very pleased and will definitely stay at a Melia again based on our experience.
