“Our time at Paradisus La Perla was extremely enjoyable and met our expectations. We opted for the Reserve deciding to splurge for the amenities. From the moment we arrived at the resort, we were treated like family and ensured all of our needs were met. Veronica was our Concierge and greeted us warmly as we checked in and was very thorough in her explanation of all the included perks and benefits the Reserve afforded us. She was always readily available on WhatsApp to answer our questions and seamlessly made our reservations for dinners and the included hydrotherapy and cenote visit. It provided peace of mind knowing all of that was handled and all we had to do was show up! Every time we came out of the elevator she was so happy and friendly, always greeting us with a smile. She really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our room included a stunning view of the ocean and was large enough to spread out for our weeklong stay. We really enjoyed access to Sante, the restaurant available to reserve guest for breakfast and lunch. We felt like the quality of food was higher compared to the buffet. The buffet definitely had its perks though with a huge array of fruits, and salads and even offered poke bowls and made to order items. Our included reservation at Sal was thoroughly enjoyed as my steak was one of my best bites on the trip. Overall, the food was very good with the exception of Flora. It was definitely lacking when compared to the other restaurants. A few minor things that we didn’t like -The mildew smell in the drawers and closets -Being sat next to very loud wedding reception while father away seats were available -How cutthroat it could be trying to claim a pool chair or cabana -Watching waitstaff struggle without help to bus their tables, refill drinks, etc resulting in sometimes very delayed service. -Lack of delicious plated desserts Things we loved during our time -Having access to a Reserve only pool -The many daily activities offered often taking advantage of exercise, art, or educational classes -The tacos at Blue Agave (Highly Recommend going for lunch) -The really lovely nightly activities offered like Casino Night, live music, and a Jaguar Warrior Show. -The delicious tuna tartar tacos at Fahrenheit Poolside Grill, along with other delicious foods we enjoyed -The ice cream made on the Family side of the resort (worth the trip especially for dark chocolate and passion fruit) -The kindness we received from every single staff member Overall, we would definitely upgrade to the Reserve again, despite a few minor hang ups. At one point there was a conference at the resort and some members turned the lounge/snack area for the Reserve into their own private meeting area taking over the whole space. Another minor hang up was that the walkway to the Reserve only beach comes out right next to a public beach entrance. We didn’t mind this much as we didn’t spend a lot of time on the beach due to seaweed. The resort worked really hard trying to keep ahead of the seaweed, but it was an uphill battle against the stinky inconvenience, so we stuck to the pool. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Paradisus La Perla. Every morning I would walk around the resort looking for wildlife and cats to admire. It was so peaceful and fun watching the coatis. We were constantly blown away by how incredibly kind and welcoming the staff came across. We did not have one negative interactions with staff our whole trip.”
