Located within the municipal boundaries of Lloret de Mar, Cala Sa Boadella is quite different from the rest of the urban beaches in the area, which are often crowded with tourists. Here, the landscape changes completely, giving way to a corner filled with nature, crystal-clear waters, and absolute peace that will make you feel as if you have travelled to a remote island in the middle of the Mediterranean.
Ideal for disconnecting from the routine and surrounding yourself with a purely coastal atmosphere, the cove of Sa Boadella is naturally protected by imposing cliffs and a lush pine forest that reaches almost to the water's edge, preserving the essence that brought international fame to the coast of Girona.
So that it does not catch you by surprise, this cove has a naturist bathing area on the right side, which is a reference point in the La Selva region.
It is one of the most beautiful corners of the southern Costa Brava. Its special charm makes it an essential visit during any stay in Lloret de Mar.

The surroundings of the Cala Sa Boadella, so natural, and the excellent quality of its waters are the first things that catch your attention. With a length of barely 250 metres, this beautiful sandy beach is divided into two zones by a central rocky outcrop known as Sa Roca des Mig: on one side is the open beach of Sa Boadella (mostly family-oriented) and, on the other, the sector traditionally known as Sa Cova (a small and discreet corner that is a benchmark for nudism on the Costa Brava where both styles of bathing coexist in total harmony).
The ground is covered by coarse, bright golden sand that does not stick to the skin and allows the water to maintain ideal visibility and transparency, which is unbeatable for snorkelling.
Being sheltered by high rocky cliffs and surrounded by the beautiful Jardines de Santa Clotilde, the cove lacks large buildings or promenades. This preserves its traditional atmosphere without sacrificing comfort, as it has the Blue Flag distinction and has essential services such as showers, public toilets, and lifeguard stations.
Before organising your visit to the Cala Sa Boadella, I recommend knowing its location and the different ways to access it well.
The cove is located at the southern end of the municipality of Lloret de Mar, between the beach of Fenals and the famous cliffs where the historic Jardines de Santa Clotilde are located, naturally delimiting the coastal landscape of the town.
📍 Carrer de l'Ermita, s/n, 17310 Lloret de Mar, Girona.
Due to its privileged location, it is not possible to drive directly to the sand. You will have to walk along a pleasant path of about 5 to 10 minutes under the shade of the pine trees, a journey that will give you a unique panoramic view before setting foot on the beach.
Coming by car from the centre of Lloret de Mar or from Blanes, you can take the GI-682 road in the direction of the Jardines de Santa Clotilde. Once you leave the car parked in the enabled areas, you will only have to walk about 200 metres along a dirt path.
There are several parking areas in the surroundings of the cove of Sa Boadella, near the beach of Fenals and the Jardines de Santa Clotilde, from where you will have to walk to the cove.
You have to try to arrive as early as possible, as the parking spaces tend to fill up quickly, especially during the weekends of July and August. From 11am it can be really complicated to park.
📍 So that you can plan your route to the millimetre and not miss any detail of the way, here you can consult the Map of Cala Sa Boadella
The reviews of the Cala Sa Boadella usually highlight the beauty of the natural environment, describing this sandy beach as "the best-kept secret of Lloret". Some of the most commented aspects are the clarity of the water, the tranquillity, and the possibility of being in direct contact with nature.

The first thing you should keep in mind is that to access the cove of Sa Boadella you have to travel along a comfortable beaten earth and sand path under the shade of the pine forest. Although it is not a difficult path, it is advisable to avoid flat flip-flops during the walk and opt for closed footwear that does not slip on the loose sand and the small roots on the ground.
It is also important to bring water and food, because, although there is a small seasonal beach bar, it is usually full and, in addition, has quite high prices.
The strategic and unbeatable geographical location of the cove of Sa Boadella, within the province of Girona, means that you have several plans to make once you leave the beach. In just a few minutes you can ascend from the shore to imposing viewpoints or enter urban centres with a lot of history.
Located right on top of the cliff that crowns the cove, these spectacular Noucentista-style gardens are considered some of the most beautiful in Europe. Designed at the beginning of the 20th century, their stepped terraces, their imposing staircases flanked by marble mermaids, and their dense vegetation of cypresses offer viewpoints with spectacular views over the sea that will leave you speechless.
A very short distance to the south is this beautiful white sanctuary that has an immense maritime devotion in the region. Located on a promontory surrounded by centuries-old pine trees, the hermitage has a beautiful outdoor courtyard from where you can watch the waves break against the adjacent cliffs in an almost sacred silence.
In case you still have the desire to stretch your legs and enjoy the military history of the area, head towards the promontory that separates the beaches of Lloret and Fenals. There you will find the restored ruins of the Castillo de San Juan, an 11th-century medieval fortress that served to monitor pirate incursions and whose towers offer a complete panoramic view of the entire municipality.
