Mallorca has two main ports: Palma and Alcúdia. The former is in the southwest of the island in the heart of the island capital, and the latter is in the north-east in a quieter part of the island and near some of the most spectacular beaches on the island.
The main ports of departure for Mallorca from the Spanish mainland are Barcelona, Valencia and Denia, although there are also options from Menorca, Ibiza and France.
From Barcelona
This is one of the most popular routes and arrives in the port of Palma. The journey from Barcelona takes between 6 and 8 hours depending on the type of ferry. This route offers daytime and evening departures and operates all year round, making it ideal if you prefer to visit Mallorca in winter.
From Valencia
From the capital of Turia, you can reach the port of Palma in 7 to 9 hours, depending on the type of ferry. Some offer night departures, so if you book a cabin you will arrive at your destination full of energy.
From Denia
Another option to take into account if you are traveling from Spain. The trip takes from 5 to 7 hours, using conventional and fast ferries depending on the time of year. There are also many connections throughout the year, although more frequently in summer.
From Ibiza
Ferries from Ibiza operate more frequently, allowing you to get to Mallorca in just 2 to 4 hours depending on the type of boat. There are daily departures with arrival in Palma and connections throughout the year.
From Menorca
This is the quickest option, with arrivals in the port of Alcúdia in less than 2 hours by fast ferry. It also offers daily departures both in summer and winter.
From Toulon
An international alternative for travelers from the south of France. The journey takes from 12 to 15 hours and arrival in Puerto de Alcúdia. Please note that this service is seasonal and only from the end of March to October.
From Sète
From this city in the south of France, you can travel to Mallorca by boat, ending in the port of Alcúdia. The trip takes between 14 and 15 hours and, although there is only one departure a week, the service is available throughout the year.
