SOL Fuerteventura Jandia – All Suites

“Only 4 stars due to the food. The choice was quite limited, many dishes were over-salted, and there seemed to be an obsession with pickling everything! There was also usually only one coffee machine working, which meant queues at busy times. Bottled water wasn't available in the hotel, and the snacks at the pool bar were often left sitting out, making them dry and cold. Now for the positives – and there are plenty of them! I've genuinely never stayed in such a clean hotel. All of the rooms are suites with loads of storage space, and everything was absolutely spotless. We didn't see a single bug all week. The pool area was scrubbed daily, the loungers were washed down regularly, and I don't think I saw so much as a speck of bird mess anywhere. The staff were fantastic – always smiling, friendly, and incredibly accommodating towards my son, who has additional needs. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. There was always plenty of seating available at the bar. The cocktails were a little underwhelming, but the sangria more than made up for it! Evening entertainment consisted of live singers and bands. We tended to head to bed early, but despite the entertainment, our room was wonderfully quiet and we slept really well every night. One of the best things was the sunbed situation. Nobody was reserving loungers with towels at dawn, and there were always plenty available despite there only being one pool area. The pool is also taped off until 9am, so there's no need for the usual holiday rush. Please note: no inflatables are allowed in the pool! The hotel is in a great location, right next to the market and shops. There are supermarkets within a two-minute walk where you can buy bottled water, and the beach is nearby too. Just be careful if you go swimming – the sea can look deceptively calm, but the currents are surprisingly strong. One thing to be aware of is that there are no holiday reps based at the hotel, so any excursions need to be booked online in advance or arranged in town. Overall, despite a few issues with the food, this was a very clean, well-run hotel with wonderful staff and a great location. I would happily stay here again, but I would probably go out for food instead of being all inclusive.”
