Great experience. We were at The Reserve side during our stay, and everyone was amazing. There were restaurants open all day long, from breakfast at 7 to late night caps. Friendly staff, lots of activities to keep you busy both on and off the resort. Don't forget to check out the spa!

Un paraíso auténtico...

The Paradisus La Perla is amazing! We travelled with our two teenage sons who were 19 and 18 so we stayed at the La Perla side (adults only). We also upgraded to The Reserve which we highly recommend! The extra perks make a significant difference in your experience. First some thoughts on The Reserve: • Our concierge Eduardo was beyond excellent! He booked our restaurants every night in advance and then reminded us in a timely fashion of our reservation time. He checked in via WhatsApp every morning with the days events and to make sure he could help with anything. The last day my son had a stomach issue from a day trip we took and Eduardo managed to find a thermometer and brought anti-diarrhetic medicine. He always surprised with snacks or cookies. He immediately responded when we needed extra bottled water or coffee for the room. He was just amazing! • The Reserve pool is in the back corner of the resort with its own bridge through the mangroves to the beach. The pool is smaller but much less crowded with its own bar and excellent service. The main pool has a DJ and parties so we appreciated the quiet area as it was separated by a building and walk path from the louder areas. • The Reserve has an exclusive restaurant called Sante which is open for breakfast and lunch. We only went there for breakfast. It is so good and so easy. There was never a wait and excellent service by the sweetest waitstaff. Our waiters were Gabriela, Renau, and Ariadna and they were so so friendly and made it very special for us! We ate at Yokimaka, Lemon Fish, Teppanyaki, Capella, and Sal's. All were excellent! Capella is an italian restaurant which is located on the family side of the resort and it is MUCH different on that side with lot's of families and kids at the restaurant. Nothing wrong with that but just a different experience and a reminder of the difference between the two sides of the resort. 5th Avenue in Playa Del Carmen is a long walk from the resort so it’s best to use a taxi which can be expensive. There are some reviews that mention the wildlife — Coati's and raccoons in the resort. That's definitely true and we saw many near the pool area and Sante's restaurant which is outdoor. This did NOT bother us at all because the resort is nested in the middle of a beautiful mangrove forest and the wildlife showed that nature was nearby. The staff worked hard to keep the animals from bothering us. However the Coati's were very bold and did hop up on one table and steal food. That said, it was well managed and not a persistent problem. Our thought is that it made the resort seem more integrated in its natural surroundings. We enjoyed it! Also, the bird population is wonderful and we did some bird watching from our balcony. Overall we were very impressed by the Paradisus La Perla and highly recommend it!
