Home to the Burgplatz on the banks of the river Rhine, home to the tower of the former palace of the Count of Berg, and the “Schifffahrts” Maritime Museum. Nearby, Düsseldorf City Hall (Rathaus) consists of three buildings belonging to different ages, the Church of St. Lambertus, St. Apollinaris and finally Carlsplatz, with a market every day of the week.

With beautiful ancient houses on both sides, it’s one of the most impressive shopping streets in the city. Benrath Palace is the most important palace in Düsseldorf. Designed in late-Baroque style, it dates from the 18th century. It is also home to the Natural History Museum, the European Gardens and the Corp de Logis (judicial issues and customs).

If you visit with kids, they will love the Aquazoo and its fantastic panoramic aquariums, seals and penguins, the Moviepark (in Bottrop) or the Zoom Erlebniswelt (zoo in Gelsenkirchen ). And if you want to have a really good time, take a trip to the famous Legoland theme park in Oberhausen.
