Our amazing history
Meliá White House is a star-studded building. Despite the constant bombings, The White House remained undamaged during the Blitz. Documents found after the Allied victory revealed that the building's unique star shape served as a landmark for Luftwaffe pilots, and therefore, it was deemed too valuable to destroy.

The White House was not immune to the intrigues of the Cold War either, and in the early 1960s, Gordon Lonsdale, a member of the 'Portland Spy Ring' who posed as a Canadian businessman, lived on the 6th floor. In Konon Molodi's apartment, the real name of this Soviet agent, classified documents, microfilms, a code transmitter, and all sorts of espionage-related paraphernalia were discovered.
