Our recent stay at the ME Reina Victoria Hotel in Madrid was overall pleasant but had its ups and downs. Upon arrival, the front desk staff stood out as incredibly kind and helpful. Despite being in the midst of a shift change and clearly rushed, they went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of and even assisted us in securing our rooms for the night. Their friendliness was appreciated and left a positive first impression. The rooms were well-kept, clean, and tidy, but we did encounter a strange issue—there was clothing in the closet that didn’t belong to us. While the rest of the room felt clean, this detail was unsettling and took away from the otherwise high standard of cleanliness. As for the rooftop bar, the view was spectacular—one of the best in the city, without a doubt. However, our experience with the staff there was disappointing. We had requested a table for 8 people, but were initially seated at a table meant for 4, which felt dismissive. Only after we ordered more expensive drinks were we provided a larger table that could accommodate our entire group. This treatment gave us the impression that the staff made assumptions about us based on our initial order, and that was a bit frustrating. In my opinion, all customers should be treated with respect and given adequate service from the start, regardless of what they order. Overall, ME Reina Victoria offers a comfortable stay with great amenities, but there are areas where they could improve, particularly in ensuring all guests feel equally valued.
