Madeira is located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, 400 kilometres from the Canary Islands and at a latitude of 33°N, the same as Casablanca (Morocco). Its main islands are Madeira, Porto Santo, Desertas and Selvagens, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
- Enjoy the CR7 Museum
This museum presents the history of the Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, including the 2008 and 2013 Golden Balls and two Golden Boots (2007/08 and 2010/11), plus all the youth and professional trophies won playing for Andorinha, Nacional, Sporting, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
- Play golf
The mild climate is ideal for golf all year round, and the exceptionally beautiful scenery has given rise to two golf courses in Madeira and one in Porto Santo. Ever since 1993, the Madeira Open has been held in the archipelago at the beginning of spring and is an integral part of the European PGA Tour.
- Porto Santo
This island is very different from Madeira and has as a nine-kilometre beach bathed by a deliciously calm, clear and deep blue sea. Due to its arid landscape featuring warm yellow and brown tones, it is also known as the Golden Island.
- S. Vicente Caves and Volcanism Centre
The caves offer a very well-organised visit with specialist guides. The Volcanism Centre is located next to the São Vicente Caves on the cliff opposite the Ribeira de São Vicente, a charming village on the north coast of Madeira at the bottom of the valley, where the formation of the Island began.
- Madeira Natural Park
In order to preserve a vast natural heritage which is a rarity on a global level, the Madeira Natural Park was created in 1982. It is classified as a Biogenetic Reserve and contains unique flora and fauna.
- Botanical Garden
The Madeira Botanical Garden is a great treasure and one of the most famous tourist attractions on the island. Enjoy the fascinating gardens and take an unforgettable ride on the Jardim Botânico cable car to the historic town of Monte, with its beautiful church, gardens and basket carts.
- Theme park
The Madeira Theme Park is located in the city of Santana, and is the only one in Portugal. It has a fantastic exhibition area dedicated to the history, science and traditions of the Madeira Archipelago. The park occupies an area of 145 thousand square metres and is a must-see attraction.
