Un hotel espectacular. Quedamos realmente encantados.

5*, 10/10 experience. If I could give it 11/10 I would. Location. The hotel is in perfect location just an enough steps from Duomo to be out of the most crowded tourist flow, yet still be in the perfect viewing field. Design. Everything inside design wise is a mix of preservation of the beautiful historic building it resides in and modern , somewhat oriental feel in evoked by the subtle paintings on the walls both in rooms and corridors. Food. Is great, both Isola restaurant upstairs housed in one of the few rooftop terraces in Milan , I recommend linguine vongole bottarga , and downstairs ground floor bar - try lobster roll or the violet prawns. Service. Perhaps the best of all and reason why I am such a huge fan of this place now, nearly every staff member I bumped into during my stay knew me by first and last name, greeted me with a genuine smile and enthusiasm and truly seemed to care, not only if there was any issue but simply taking interest in my plans etc. Truly a real 5 star hotel experience, many incumbent chains should take note. If there was any request or issue it was resolved promptly and with care. Amenities. Small, but fully functional gym with newest TechnoGym equipment, headphones, fruit and water/ energy drinks. Also a nice view. Spa again, small but very lovely, beautiful design with a decent size pool, great hot sauna and steam, I’ve and rainforest showers , snacks etc. Extra: as always it’s all in the details. A fresh box of Marchesi chocolates every night, a handwritten note upon check in and check out, macarons, a chocolate cake from marchesi ( I’m a sweet lover too) , Frette robes, newest Zilli coffee machine - it all adds up to make you feel pampered, welcome and like you’re a treasured guest. Down side: I felt just the slightest tremor as I was falling asleep due to the tram passing by in front of the hotel, but according to my Oura, I still fell asleep within 8 minutes of going to bed, so it wasn’t a problem for me and I am a light sleeper, earplugs always present. 100% coming back.
