Museums and galleries in São Paulo
If you like to visit museums and galleries, São Paulo will not disappoint. The São Paulo Museum of Modern Art (MAM), located within the Ibirapuera Park, for example, is an excellent option for those who wish for a more cultured and sedate afternoon. Another option not to be missed, especially if you are a sports fan, is the Football Museum at the Estádio do Pacaembu. Take advantage of your visit to the museum and see the beautiful stadium. The museum is just over a 1 km from the São Paulo Higienópolis and the walk is pleasant.
You cannot visit São Paulo without visiting, at least once, the São Paulo Museum of Art, the famous MASP, in Avenida Paulista. The MASP building is itself a work of art and on Sundays there is lovely antiques market. The MASP is also near the São Paulo Higienópolis, a 30 minute walk or 10 minutes by car.
It is difficult to really define the city’s cuisine as there are all kinds of different restaurants: Arabic, French, Japanese, and Chinese and the local mining cuisine and cuisine from the north of the country.
São Paulo is known for its aperitifs and dishes with simple ingredients resulting in some delicious combinations. The different bars and bakeries in São Paulo hide culinary wonders that are well worth discovering.
The da Cidade Municipal Market is another place for visitors that love trying new flavours. From São Paulo Higienópolis it is only a 13 drive away or a quick ride on the metro (line 4 or the yellow line).
