The main doorway earns as special mention, as does the rose window – it’s one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.
Explore, Discover and Feel
Although you won’t find much snow on Mallorca, you will find plenty of Christmas cheer at the Pueblo Español Christmas Market. Enjoying a warm glass of warm mulled wine as you stroll among the detailed replicas of Spain's most famous monuments is a perfect way to celebrate Christmas on the island.
During the Fiestas de Sant Sebastiá, the streets and squares of Palma host concerts, parades and other fun activities to enjoy with family and friends. Don't miss the joyous fireworks of the Revetlla de Sant Sebastià or the chance to join the locals in celebrating Palma's patron saint.
The Fiestas de Sant Antoni are held throughout Mallorca, but the most famous celebration occurs in the town of Sa Pobla. During the week before January 17th, the streets of Sa Pobla fill with revelry, delicious food and music, culminating in an unforgettable night of fireworks and bonfires. This is truly a must in Mallorca.
Twice a year, a unique phenomenon occurs at Palma Cathedral: sunlight shines directly through the famous rose window and creates a dazzling show of light and color. For brief moments, the colorful silhouette of the rose window passes directly underneath another rose window located at the front of the cathedral, creating a beautiful double-rose effect. During the event, the Gran Meliá Victoria hotel will prepare a special barbecue in celebration of this beautiful spectacle.
