Salamanca is a Spanish city located in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, in the province of Campo de Salamanca, in the central-west part of the country.
Salamanca was declared a World Heritage Site in 1988 by UNESCO. The city has an important historic and architectural heritage: two cathedrals (the New Cathedral and the Old Cathedral), the Casa de las Conchas, Plaza Mayor, the Convent of San Esteban and the Escuelas Mayores.
