Destination information – Gran Meliá Don Pepe

Marbella is located between Malaga and the Straits of Gibraltar and is one of the most important resorts on the Costa del Sol, thanks to its fabulous beaches, its pleasant climate all year long, its glamour and its leisure and entertainment options

  • Marbella Old Quarter. Enjoy a pleasant walk through the typically Andalusian old quarter with flower adorned white houses and narrow streets. Don’t miss the Church of Santo Cristo de la Vera Cruz, the Hermitage of the Calvario, the Bonsai Museum and the Ralli Museum
  • Historic Ensanche. Between the old quarter and the sea is the Paseo de la Alameda and the Avenida del Mar which connects the old quarter with the beach. This avenue is known for its sculptures designed by Salvador Dalí and cast in bronze by Bonvicini in Verona. Towards the west is the Park of the Constitución
  • The Golden Mile and New Andalucía. Discover some of the most luxurious residences in Marbella such as the Palace of King Fahd
  • San Pedro Alcántara. Worth mentioning are the two 19th century industrial buildings: the Trapiche de Guadaiza and the Ingenio Azucarero. And next to San Pedro are some of the most important archaeological sites in Marbella: the early Christian Basilica of Vega del Mar, the Roman baths of Las Bóvedas and the Roman Tower
  • District of Las Chapas. The site of Río Real, located on a promontory near the mouth of the river its named after

  • The 27 km of Marbella’s coastline is divided into 24 beaches
  • In general, they are golden fine grained sandy beaches with moderately calm waters, some are more coarse or even pebble
  • Highlights include the beaches of Artola, Cabopino, Venus and La Fontanilla and Puerto Banús and San Pedro Alcántara which have the Blue flag

  • At Puerto Banús you will find luxury boutiques and shops with big names
  • The Old Quarter is perfect for buying souvenirs
  • Other shopping areas are located in Avenida Ricardo Soriano and Avenida de  Ramón y Cajal
  • We also advise visiting the markets where you can browse amongst the stalls
