Ibiza is located to the east of the Spanish mainland in the Mediterranean Sea and forms part of the Balearic Islands (Spain). It is 572 km2 and with Formentera forms part of the Islas Pitiusas (called the Pine Islands by the Greeks). Ibiza Town is overlooked by an impressive fortress and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
