My Barcelona route - TRYP Barcelona Apolo

BOHEMIAN ROUTE WITH CHARM

Welcome to my Barcelona!

My name is Maria and I am the Expert in Catalan Traditions at the TRYP Apolo. These are some of the places with charm in Barcelona; hidden corners and areas of the city to enjoy simply wandering around.

Barcelona is a large city made up of small barrios(quarters), some with a bohemian character and charm which makes “getting lost” in their narrow streets simply wonderful. Fantastic spaces to photograph, read a book or sit and watch the world go by.

BOHEMIAN ROUTE WITH CHARM IN BARCELONA

Gothic Quarter

This is the oldest and most historic quarter of the city. Wandering around its streets you will discover majestic building such as the Santa Maria del Mar or its open spaces such as Plaça Reial.

Barrio del Raval

In this multicultural and busy atmosphere, visit the emblematic Mercat de La Boqueria, built in 1836 where you can find fresh produce from all corners of the world.

Barrio del Born

If you want a mix of modern and old, amongst artisan glassware and chic boutiques, don’t miss out on the quarter of the Ciutat Vella de Barcelona. You will be amazed!

WHERE TO EAT

  • I recommend a restaurant called Can Perallada located in the heart of Barrio del Raval. Mediterranean cuisine at reasonable prices.

SOMETHJING TO KEEP YOU GOING

  • Any bar with a terrace is ideal for enjoying a small beer (caña) and the traditional patatas bravas! (spicy potatoes)Best place for patatas bravas? “Bar Tomás”, at Carrer Major de Sarriá, 49.

MYFAVOURITE SHOP

  • Buy some original souvenirs at Portaferrissa: Art Montfalcon.
