Amongst its many qualities, São Paulo stands out as a city that manages to combine business and different entertainment options. It is not by chance that it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Brazil.
It offers culture, fun, business, shopping, etc. The objectives of visitors to the state capital are varied. In the centre of it all is Avenida Paulista; a street that is that more than just a street, it is the commercial and business centre of the country.
The TRYP Paulista is proud to be located in a metropolis such as São Paulo, as it means that our guests can get to know one of the most representative places in Brazil, characterized by a wide variety of cultures and accents as here many native Brazilians from all over the country and foreigners live side by side. And it is precisely these differences that make SP an important destination for large scale events, such as São Paulo Fashion Week, the Art Biennale of São Paulo, the Motor Show, the LGBT Pride Parade, the International Festival of Electronic Language, the International Film Festival of São Paulo and GP Formula 1 Brazil at Interlagos.
Whatever the purpose of your visit to São Paulo, the city is prepared to give you what you are looking for. In the field of business, the city is home to the headquarters of globally important Brazilian companies, because a lot of business is carried out here, information arrives here and it is from here that the Brazilian market expands to other states.
However, if you just want to have fun, you can enjoy the many cinemas, theatres and different shows during the week. The clubs also deserve a mention and offer options for all musical tastes and styles.
São Paulo is also the home to culture and art, as it offers museums and exhibitions on every corner. For visitors who, by contrast, prefer fresh air and nature, São Paulo has exceptional parks (note: Trianon Park is near the TRYP Paulista and can be reached on foot).
And why not go shopping? In SP there are several shopping centres with all kinds of shops, such as Pátio Higienópolis Shopping Centre and Pátio Paulista Shopping Centre, both of which are a few minutes from the hotel. There are also traditional shopping streets that deserve a visit, such as Rua Vinte and Cinco de Março, only ten minutes from the hotel, and Rua Oscar Freire, for those looking for famous brands and luxury goods (only 2 km from the hotel).
From Japanese, fast food, traditional mining cuisine, Arabic, French to Mexican, the restaurants in São Paulo will please all palates. An excellent way to understand the city is to discover the city’s bars and restaurants; always go with an open mind and a stomach ready to try something new.
Traditional dishes include the feijoada and the pizza (the best in the world!).
It is normal for any tourist to want to see Avenida Paulista, even though it is only 2.7 km long. Throughout the year, thousands of visitors walk along this famous street, as it is more than just a way of getting elsewhere; it is the heart of São Paulo, the host of congresses, events and exhibitions.
However, it is not all business, entertainment also forms part of Avda. Paulista as it is home to bars and clubs and near other popular places. For example the Bar Metrópolis, the excellent and old Rock and Roll and Bar Riviera, another famous place. Plus it is near Rua Augusta where there are many more places and sophisticated bars.
Foreigners who need additional information can get in contact with their consulates. Some can be found in Avenida Paulista, such as the South African, Albanian, Argentinean, Belgium, Bolivian, Chilean, South Korean, French, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Jordanian, Libyan, Luxemburg, Monaco, Dominican Republic, Syrian, Swiss and Taiwanese.
Reaching Avenida Paulista is not difficult. Along the avenue there are three metro stations and several bus stops that give access to other means of public transport. It is also easy to find taxis in the area.
