São Paulo is the Brazilian city with greatest potential to receive visitors in the innumerable hotels in the city, according to a study by the Ministry of Tourism in association with the Fundação Getúlio Vargas, which evaluated points such as hygiene, medical attention, services and tourist attractions. It is no coincidence that annually the city’s hectic and versatile environment attracts 11 million people.
Despite being an urban metropolis, São Paulo is also characterised by its excellent parks, such as Parque do Povo, Parque Trianon and Parque Ibirapuera, the largest in the city, which have great spaces for exercise and open-air activities, as well as pretty gardens.
Museums: the passion of the tourists
The Museum of Art of São Paulo is located in Avenida Paulista and its fantastic building is a tourist attraction in itself. Inside you can enjoy works of art by artists such as Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh and Rembrandt, as well as temporary exhibitions. By car, the MASP is a little over ten minutes from the TRYP Jesuíno Arruda.
As well as the MASP, São Paulo has 109 other similar establishments, with equally excellent and varied collections. The Museum of Football (15 minutes from the TRYP Jesuíno Arruda and located in the Estádio do Pacaembu), for example, is an great option for those who like sport. The Museum of the Portuguese Language, in the Estação da Luz (16 minutes by car from the TRYP Jesuíno Arruda), is also a wonderful alternative for its modern and irreverent way of presenting the fifth most widely spoken language in the world. Opposite the museum is the Pinacoteca do Estado, the oldest art museum in the city.
Other “must sees” for guests who stay at the TRYP Jesuíno Arruda are the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), located in Parque Ibirapuera (10 minutes by car from the hotel).
An event every six minutes
There are different events in São Paulo for all tastes and styles. The International Art Biennale is one of the major events of the international art circuit.
Other important dates on the city’s calendar are the International Exhibition of Art, the Grande Prêmio Brasil de Fórmula 1, São Paulo Fashion Week, the Salão do Automóvel and the LGBT gay pride parade, as well as the countless shows and plays at the theatres featuring artists from all over the world.
Gastronomy and leisure
The cuisine of São Paulo is a "delicacy" for anyone looking for good and varied food. In the city there are over 12 thousand restaurants with menus from all around the world.
Typical food can also be found such as the Virado à Paulista and the mortadela sandwich. Some dishes have been imported and well developed in the city, such as the pizza and the pastel de feira, which stand out from the typical gastronomy.
The city’s main dishes are:
Itaim Bibi: the best neighbourhood in the city
Thanks to its strategic location, in the heart of Itaim Bibi, the TRYP Jesuíno Arruda offers its guests all the commercial, leisure and cultural options of a great city, with the sympathy and modesty that characterises the way of being here. Nearby, guests can find the headquarters of large companies, such as VIVO and Odebrecht, and important business centres and shopping centres.
These characteristics make Itaim Bibi one of the most elegant and sophisticated neighbourhoods for business and tourism in São Paulo. In addition to the complete local commerce, with banks, shopping centres and supermarkets, guests can easily reach other tourist places in the city because of the efficient taxi and public transport system.
When leaving the hotel, you can walk down Rua João Cachoeira, the open air commercial centre in São Paulo, with its attractive shop window, or you can go to one of the two shopping centres nearby, the JK Iguatemi and the Cidade Jardim. Another excellent plan is to try out the wonderful restaurants and bars in the area, in Rua Amauri, one of the city’s best gastronomic centres.
